1. Get rid of the Kerry/Clark banner but keep your photo of Clark |
|
You have no reason to drop that.

I was a big supporter of Clark on either space on the ticket, but it's time to let it go. Edwards is a good man who will make a wonderful vice-president. :-)

7. Okay, I'm going to be gentle . . . |
|
I was lighting candles like mad during the primaries. I called perfect strangers and asked them to vote for Clark. (Through the campaign of course, LOL.) And even though he had dropped out before my state had its primary, I still punched the hole next to his name on the ballot. But now that the ticket is set, it's time to let go of the dream of Clark being on the ticket this year. I still greatly admire him--I know that he will be a part of the Democratic party for a long time to come. He is a great man with a great vision for this country. He will run again if his country needs him to.
But it's time to follow the General's example and start working like hell to get Bush out of office--and that means doing all you can for Kerry/Edwards. They are great men too and I'm confident they will not budge an inch when it comes to Bush. I will admit, I was not always so confident in Kerry, nor did I have a great passion for Edwards. But I saw them together this past Wednesday in Cleveland. They have genuine warmth for each other, and a passion about restoring the America I used to know. I pray that they will get elected this fall and Clark will have a part in this administration. By all means, remain a Wes Clark Democrat--but General Clark wouldnt' want his supporters to try to divide the party from within by not supporting Kerry/Edwards or hanging onto a dream that isn't possible right now.
By all means, take the time to mourn if you need to, but then put your hopes aside for a bit and work with this ticket! It's what Clark would want us to do! :-)

5. Keep it as long as you want. It's hard to change what's in |
|
your heart. As time goes by and you feel better about Edwards (If you ever do) then change it. It broke my heart to get rid of mine.

8. Wouldn't that suggest that you think that either Kerry's going to lose |
|
in '04 or that, even if he wins, Clark should run against him in '08? How about Edwards-Clark 2012?

11. It means i think they will lose in 2004 |
|
IF... and this is a BIG if, dems feel too relaxed and let their guard down, now that they think they have the perfect ticket.

13. Thanks for clarifying that |
|
I think you're dreaming, though, if you think Hillary is going to play second fiddle to Clark. Clinton/Clark, maybe, and only if he manages to stay in the public eye for another four years of a Bush administration.

I don't plan on changing my signature line ever, unless the DLC decides to stop being the Republican wing of the Democratic party. As long as you feel your sig line is appropriate, it is appropraite for YOU!

Take as long a time as you need to grieve. I agree about keeping the picture but not the banner. It would have been wonderful, but it's not to be. I'm going through a grieving period too, and hope that those who feel the way we do can eventually come out on the other side and do as the General wants.
We need to process our feelings and then work like hell to kick * out of the White House, or at least win back the House and Senate.
It was a beautiful banner BTW, and I wish it would have ended up being the one.

12. I love Clark, but I changed my avatar on Tuesday |
|
and drove 2 hours each way to see Kerry Edwards yesterday. My focus is on the bottom line - ABB and I feel so much better after attending the rally yesterday. Wes will find his place. I truly believe he won't be ignored or excluded.
