3. I hope these numbers hold and are correct!
These polls are just all over the place! I'm excited if Kerry really is pulling ahead though. (I live in Ohio and attended the Cleveland rally Wednesday. Trust me, if they keep hitting North of Columbus and get out the vote, they will take this state! *crosses fingers and toes*)

4. Latest Rasnussen has Bush ahead of Kerry in Ohio
Ohio: Bush 46% Kerry 42%

State data from National Survey of 15,000 Likely Voters

June 1-30, 2004

Ohio 2004

Presidential Ballot

Bush 46%
Kerry 42%
Other 5%
Not Sure 7%
RasmussenReports.com

July 9, 2004--In Ohio, the latest Rasmussen Reports survey shows President Bush with 46% of the vote and Senator Kerry with 42%. That four point edge matches Bush's margin of victory in the state four years ago. In Election 2000, it was Bush 50% Gore 46%.

Last month, it was Bush 46% Kerry 44% in our Ohio poll. However, despite the improvement, Ohio remains in the "Toss-up" category for our Electoral College projections (we require a five point lead before moving a state from Toss-Up status).

Men in Ohio prefer the President by a nine-percentage point margin. Women are evenly divided.

5. Keep Working on Ohio
I can see why they came to Dayton the other day rather than Columbus. Columbus is a college town and so leans somewhat left already (though I see the occasional Bush/Cheney yardsign here ... grrr...) - but Dayton/Fairborn has Wright Patterson Air Force Base, and for some inexplicable reason, the military tends to lean right. So Dayton is the place to focus, that's where people need to be informed and enlightened. It was neat for me personally to hear Kerry say his dad had been stationed at Wright Patt, because I lived there for a few years myself. Air Force Brats for Kerry! :)

6. That's plenty to win
I don't care if we win by one vote or 300,000 votes a win is a win is a win.

7. These numbers are an average
This guy averages the polls together and that equals 1% lead for Kerry in OH. The problem is he used the latest silly fox poll which brought Kerry's percentage down. So don't worry Kerry is doing better than it looks. He also used the FOX numbers for PA,FL,MI. Fox had Bush winning all of these outside the margin of error. (EYE'S ROLLING)

8. Rove knows Pennsylvania is key
Edited on Fri Jul-09-04 08:50 PM by DaveSZ
If he can knock off that state from Kerry it will be hard for him to win.

12. No Repub has EVER won w/o winning Ohio. Ohio is KEY.
Of course, this year it could be different. But Ohio is still extremely important.

I don't know how many Repub President's won or lost Pennsylvania. I know he wants to win it, and it's important. But I'm not sure why.

11. That's terrific news. Thanks for the information.
Ohio is VERY important, so "ahead" is ahead, as far as I'm concerned, at this point.

10. YIKES!
We need to focus a lot of attention on Ohio, it'll be essential if Bush is able to pull Pennsylvania and/or Florida into his column.
