Ohio Polling Stats - This is a tossup state
Edited on Sat Jul-10-04 11:11 AM by TexasSissy
From Abraham Lincoln to George W. Bush, no Republican has been elected president without carrying Ohio.

In the 2000 election, Bush carried Ohio 50% to Gore's 46%.

Bear in mind that "undecideds" often vote for the challenger.

Here is a consolidation of some recent polls for Ohio (I don't know if this will format correctly; if it doesn't, I'll try to edit it):

1. Damn!
I must find a way to lure my religioso-wingnut mother out of Ohio and back to Utah before the election. At least the rest of my relatives there are solid Dem.

3. Me, too. I hope he's right. I used the polls he cites in my post.
I looked at the excel spreadsheet link on his page, where he cites the polls he uses to come up with his numbers. I used his poll sources in my post, but I went to other sources to look at the numbers, also.

4. Looks like Kerry needs to get moving in Ohio.
20 Electoral Votes would be a mistake to loose.

5. Why is Bush* GAINING in Ohio?
Is it all saturation negative ads and slanted press coverage?

There has been zero good news for Bush* in the past week or two.

6. I don't know. It's a total mystery to me. But Repubs usu. carry Ohio,
so maybe it's just a big improvement that he's barely ahead there. Go figure. It's not part of the Bible Belt, and there have been jobs lost there. So I don't get it.

9. the SW and Southern parts of the state are pretty fundy
Not part of the bible belt, but there are alot of fundy/evangelicals down here, as well as conservative catholics. Ohio is actually a bit complex, and alot more conservative than one would think.

8. It's because the earlier numbers were just after Abu Graib.
AG shook the foundations of the unthinking, uninformed blind followers of the blind.
