2. What's never been explained for me
is how exactly is she going to get this done? Will it mean she goes back to the senate this summer and introduces some legislation? That will go over like a lead balloon with the republicans along with her buddys McCain and Lieberman taking great pleasure in blocking it.

not going to approve the 1 year moratorium on earmarks and she went ahead and asked for 2.5 BILLION dollars worth.

It is a gross pandering for votes.

4. It would only lower prices by 18 cents a gallon
And would hurt road construction and the jobs that go with it, and bridge repair and other infrastructure projects. I just heard Obama say it could even cause gas prices to rise in the long term because it would encourage more gas consumption. Why do people fall for pandering from politicians that hurt them in the long run? Clinton and McCain ought to be ashamed of themselves for this bad idea.

9. and we all friggin KNOW
the oil companies will raise the prices by twice that amount over the summer-one hurricane rumbling through the Gulf Of Mexico and we'll be looking at $5.00 a gallon gas regardless of whether or not there is a tax holiday.

11. Sad but true
I don't understand how they justify those high prices when they have those huge profits. They are bleeding the American people dry with their greed.

8. In Europe, folks are paying up to $9 a gallon, and still more cars on the road!
Part of that high price is down to the exchange rate, but 1.50 euros per liter is expensive in any language.

Making gasoline cheaper for a few months will do nothing to address the real issues: global warming, air pollution, the depletion of oil reserves, the need for more efficient transportation, the need for renewable and sustainable energy sources.

An honest politician would be telling us that we need to start driving LESS not more! B-)

12. What's with her trying to "pause" things, like foreclosures and gas tax?
Edited on Wed Apr-30-08 09:18 AM by wienerdoggie
That's NOT a solution!! Those are pandering temporary "fixes" that don't solve ANYTHING and might make matters worse. Is this the best we can expect from the "policy wonk"? Jesus.
