Hillary's Gas Tax Holiday Is Not A Good Idea |
|
Any reduction in price would just increase consumption...
It might have made sense to (raise) taxes on gas when it was hovering around $1.00 a gallon...Low wage earners could have been given a rebate...

1. It's just pandering - she can't do anything about it this year anyway. |

3. I Like Her But It's A Dumb Idea |

The idea is to get people to conserve... If you want less of something tax it...If you want more of something don't tax it...

A better idea is a windfall profits tax of 1.00 per gallon right now. If it goes over 4.00 per gallon, than it should be a tax of 2.00 per gallon. In the meantime, they should take this windfall tax as an opportunity to pay down our huge deficits and debt.

4. I Don't Know If That's A Good Idea Either |

Real people, especially those that can least afford it, are hurt most by high gas prices... I wonder what price of a barrel of oil can be attributed to a "instability" discharge... I suspect if a docile area like Western Europe held the lion's share of the world's oil the price wouldn't be nearly as high...
