I'm Tired Of The Media Whores Saying Edwards Didn't Give Kerry A Bounce In |
|
The Polls...
Kerry was already tied or slightly leading the Simian In Chief when he chose Edwards so one would not expect a large bounce.
Gallup used to have a section that showed all the presidential races since 1960 from Jan of the Election year to Election Day... I can't find it but maybe an enterprising DUer can...
DON'T BUY THE MEDIA WHORE DOG FOOD!!!!

2. I don't know about the link, but I heard yesterday |

that it's really too soon to tell. To really have decent polling info, you probably have to waid until next Tuesday.
I suspect to have overnight poll results, the sample would be very small, thus not terribly reliable.

4. check out my post on convention and edwards |
|
or check out kerry's blog on it which is where i got it. they explain everything so people don't end up falling for right wing spin. the fact is that while there is no HUGE numbers bounce, the bounce that did happen came from places which are mostly republican (the south and rural areas) making those places competitive now. so kerry has his base secured and now he is going to chip into republican areas with edwards as vp.
al gore got a huge bounce with lieberman, but he had been way behind bush when he announced his vp. and even then it didn't result in making as many places competitive as is the case this time.

Ike never trailed Stevenson, LBJ never trailed Goldwater, Nixon never trailed McGovern, Reagan never trailed Mondale, and Clinton never trailed Dole at this point....
The media whores need to mention this...

6. i don't think it's their intention to be accurate |
|
they are trying to spin in bush's favor. this is why when polls showed bush 1 or 2 points ahead of kerry they said bush was leading. but if kerry had a 5 point lead they said it was a tie.
they also refuse to report on the comparisons between edwards and cheney. and how far more people like edwards than cheney.

7. I did see a vp poll on Cheney and Edwards on CNN |
|
It showed Cheney at 33% approval and Edwards at 58% approval, I think. Am not positive about those figures, but am positive about the huge lead of Edwards. I saw this several times that day on CNN.

9. I'm tired of them daring -- no, egging -- Bush to dump Cheney |
|
I feel like it's almost a media crusade to get Bush to dump Cheney, just to make news. The news organizations are polling for Kerry/Edwards match ups with possible substitute runningmates on the Bush ticket. Why are they doing the RNC's job for them?
Colin Powell was the most distressing -- 54 to 43 victory. That would just be cheap. Would Colin go for it?
Frist, my nemesis, didn't stand a chance, thank cheddar.
I think it's a no-brainer that if Bush dumps The Evil One that it would improve his chances -- especially if he tried to get a minority on the ticket.
I HATE the media. And Kerry most certainly did get a bounce from Edwards -- the same poll showed Kerry beating Bush by six points.

13. I don't think there will be a substantial bounce for either candidate |
|
for Kerry's VP pick, or for either convention.
The country is far too polarized, and most people have their minds made up.
