81. Very sad, I've lost respect for celebrities who endorse Obama...like Oprah.
I heard her ratings shot down after she campaigned for Obama. She probably lost every Hillary supporter...who's almost half her viewers. That's probably why she I's afraid to to utter his name again. I lost all respect for her judgment when she made such a blunder...just like KO who lost many viewers and BillO gained a few. Will they ever learn to keep their noses clean and free of bias boogers? Guess not.

You heard????? Who gives a shit what you heard? Oprah can buy your ass a billion times over, I think she'll survive whatever little tantrum Hillarites choose to throw. And obviously KO could give a shit about you either, because you haven't done one thing to change the direction of his programming.

And it doesn't surprise most of us that you guys have climbed into bed with the likes of Bill O'Reilly. It's where most of you belonged to begin with.

I hope you are not typical of Obama supporters. Comments like that don't make friends in the voting booth. Keep it up! You are helping to turn off every Hillary supporter...which is half the country. Sorry dude, you don't know what you are doing to our party. Obviously you need a break from politics...It's ruining your disposition...unless it's the same as it's always been. Remember, If you can't stand the heat............

I'm a very decent person, I just don't like liars and hypocrites. And Maya, sadly, has proven herself to be a liar of the highest order, with not a lot of self-respect left. I hope she enjoys her 30 pieces of silver, and her future overnight stays in the Lincoln bedroom.

103. That's because Angelou KNOWS first hand that she's not the corrupt , divisive
politician that you all believe. That's because you all drink from the same glass of contaminated K-A an have caught the same divisive contagious disease. It's about time you stop lying about Hillary! The woman is NOT corrupt and it is Obama and his supporters who are divisive. Time to sign off on Drudge and RW talking points and learn some facts. Listen to Angelou...instead of Rethugs. She knows the Clintons and wouldn't endorse her if she was all her enemies say she is. Just the fact that she endorses her ought to give you some food for thought and stop believing your fellow Clinton haters and think for your self and determine who is writing what. Use some critical analysis and get off that hateful wagon you've all piled on.

175. Evidently no one was bothering to read your "posts"
But I'll give it a whirl. Since we're talking about "fair play" here, why is HRC so bizarrely intent on counting the results of the Florida and Michigan primaries when those weren't valid ("fair") contests? I'll tell you why: because she wants to win through any means necessary, and that includes convincing people that a contest where her opponent's name didn't appear on the ballot is a fair contest.

I have nothing against being "old", just old & stupid. Which is what I think of Maya. Deal with it.
I grew up surrounded by people like Maya Angelou. My parents, were they still alive, would be Maya's target audience. Both were reliably Democratic, and would probably be supporting Hillary. Like I said, they come from a generation that felt that if the white man said it, it must be true. And although they would deny it publicly, their generation just felt that white people were better.

Maya is a caricature now. She has sat idly by while her friends and allies in the Clinton campaign have said the most ludicrous racist things about Obama and his supporters, and not a peep from her? I have absolutely no respect for Ms. Angelou.

156. Boy you're dense...
I think I knew the answer to that question mastermind LMAO!

That *old woman* who just endorsed Hillary said the below about her "chosen sister" and she makes reference to a whole lot of other "old people" who you apparently hold contempt for...

If anyone needs to "deal with it" it should be you!

"In the midst of national tumult, in the medium of international violent uproar, Coretta Scott King's face remained a study in serenity. In times of interior violent storms she sat, her hands resting in her lap calmly, like good children sleeping.

Her passion was never spent in public display. She offered her industry and her energies to action, toward righting ancient and current wrongs in this world.

She believed religiously in non-violent protest.

She believed it could heal a nation mired in a history of slavery and all its excesses.

She believed non-violent protest religiously could lift up a nation rife with racial prejudices and racial bias.

She was a quintessential African-American woman, born in the small town repressive South, born of flesh and destined to become iron, born -- born a cornflower and destined to become a steel magnolia.

She loved her church fervently. She loved and adored her husband and her children. She cherished her race. She cherished women. She cared for the conditions of human beings, of native Americans and Latin -- Latinos and Asian Americans. She cared for gay and straight people. She was concerned for the struggles in Ireland, and she prayed for nightly for Palestine and equally for Israel.

I speak as a -- a sister of a sister. Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated on my birthday. And for over 30 years, Coretta Scott King and I have telephoned, or sent cards to each other, or flowers to each other, or met each other somewhere in the world.

We called ourselves "chosen sisters" and when we traveled to South Africa or to the Caribbean or when she came to visit me in North Carolina or in New York, we sat into the late evening hours, calling each other "girl." It's a black woman thing, you know. And even as we reached well into our 70th decade, we still said "girl."

I stand here today for her family -- which is my family -- and for my family and all the other families in the world who would want to be here, but could not be here. I have beside me up here millions of people who are living and standing straight and erect, and knowing something about dignity without being cold and aloof, knowing something about being contained without being unapproachable -- people who have learned something from Coretta Scott King.

I stand here for Eleanor Traylor and for Harry Belafonte, and I stand here for Winnie Mandela. I stand here for women and men who loved her -- "Dinky" Romilly. On those late nights when Coretta and I would talk, I would make her laugh. And she said that Martin King used to tell her, "You don't laugh enough." And there's a recent book out about sisters in which she spoke about her blood sister. But at the end of her essay, she said, I did have -- "I do have a chosen sister, Maya Angelou, who makes me laugh even when I don't want to." And it's true. I told her some jokes only for no-mixed company.

Many times on those late after -- evenings she would say to me, "Sister, it shouldn't be an 'either-or', should it? Peace and justice should belong to all people, everywhere, all the time. Isn't that right?" And I said then and I say now, "Coretta Scott King, you're absolutely right. I do believe that peace and justice should belong to every person, everywhere, all the time."

And those of us who gather here, principalities, presidents, senators, those of us who run great companies, who know something about being parents, who know something about being preachers and teachers -- those of us, we owe something from this minute on; so that this gathering is not just another footnote on the pages of history. We owe something.

I pledge to you, my sister, I will never cease.

I mean to say I want to see a better world.

I mean to say I want to see some peace somewhere.

I mean to say I want to see some honesty, some fair play.

I want to see kindness and justice. This is what I want to see and I want to see it through my eyes and through your eyes, Coretta Scott King.

Thank you."

109. She can endorse whoever she likes...that's not the point
The point is that HC can hardly be described as FAIR and it is laughable to even approach the AD that way.

If the AD is trying to reach my generation, that's not it.

My generation of AA knew the Clintons before they stabbed us in the heart and in the back with their racial digs and dirty tricks.

To hear Maya Angelou, who we respected, attempt to tell us that HC is "FAIR" is sad.

I certainly can't speak for all of my race of course, but I can tell you this ~ my generation is very politically up to date and they will have lots of words to describe HC but FAIR isn't even in the ball park.

HC prides herself on being - Tough, Ready on Day On to totally destroy the country of Iran...killing men/women/children and ready to throw back a shot with the boys and take sniper fire that isn't there.

Fair? I don't think so.

154. We are intelligent enough to make up our own minds
We are not sheep for Oprah or anyone else.

A A's take their vote seriously.
We worked too hard to be allowed to vote.
We are well read on the issues and AA's of all economic levels and educational levels enjoy discussing politics.

So Oprah doesn't have to tell us what to do, we are not stuck on stupid.

Letter from Maya Angelou:

You may write me down in history

With your bitter, twisted lies,

You may tread me in the very dirt

But still, like dust, I'll rise.

This is not the first time you have seen Hillary Clinton seemingly at her wits' end, but she has always risen, always risen, don't forget she has always risen, much to the dismay of her adversaries and the delight of her friends.

Hillary Clinton will not give up on you and all she asks of you is that you do not give up on her.

There is a world of difference between being a woman and being an old female. If you're born a girl, grow up, and live long enough, you can become an old female. But to become a woman is a serious matter. A woman takes responsibility for the time she takes up and the space she occupies. Hillary Clinton is a woman. She has been there and done that and has still risen. She is in this race for the long haul. She intends to make a difference in our country. Hillary Clinton intends to help our country to be what it can become.

She declares she wants to see more smiles in the family, more courtesies between men and women, more honesty in the marketplace. She is the prayer of every woman and man who longs for fair play, healthy families, good schools, and a balanced economy.

She means to rise.

Don't give up on Hillary. In fact, if you help her to rise, you will rise with her and help her make this country the wonderful, wonderful place where every man and every woman can live freely without sanctimonious piety and without crippling fear.

Rise, Hillary.

Rise.

132. How about a good politician? The kind that wins the election.
I want to win! We want to pick out the next 3-4 SCJ and balance the budget and health care for all etc. You'd rather sit around and foul the daisies.

153. I don't think Maya knows what Hillary Clinton's record is
Even if you exclude Clinton's backing of NAFTA and China free trade that decimated North Carolina jobs, there is her love of voting for wars. Oddly, Maya says something about that"

"I thought if war did not include killing, I'd like to see one every year."

Just plain fabulous.

May Angelou is so gracious and passionate. So lucid too. I heard here in an interview on the radio a few weeks ago... in St. Louis... on a Sunday morning. Talking about her poetry and her spiritual beliefs.

167. Is this a joke? Fair play? What irony!.That's the opposite of the Hillary campaign!
She's whined and lied and smeared and cried and she realizes she can't win so she'd rather tear Obama down to preserve her 2012 chances. That's fair play? What a load of crap!

Angelou’s Tribute to Clinton

By Ariel Alexovich

Legendary writer Maya Angelou gives a glowing — dare we say poetic — assessment of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s qualifications to be president in Mrs. Clinton’s latest TV spot for North Carolina.

“Hillary Clinton is a prayer of every American who really longs for fair play,” Ms. Angelou says. The footage is taken from an April 18 campaign appearance at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C.

The Clinton campaign probably hopes the tribute from Ms. Angelou rings true in the hearts of the North Carolina’s many African American voters. The poet also touches on the hot-button local issue of unemployment.

“Working men and women have had their jobs snatched from underneath them, their homes snatched away from them,” Ms. Angelou says. “And what we need, I think, is a person, a president who can make a difference in our country.”

In the ad, viewers see images of Mrs. Clinton greeting women and children mixed in with scenes of Ms. Angelou making her remarks.

“She intends to help our country become what it can become,” Ms. Angelou says. “She dares to say human beings are more alike than we are unalike.”

Ms. Angelou is a longtime friend of the Clintons. She recited an original poem at Bill Clinton’s inauguration in 1993.

Here’s the script for “Maya”:

Maya Angelou is a treasure and regardless of who she supports, it is no reason for the low-life gutter sniping attacks against her just because she doesn't support their candidate.
