I was sitting here composing a letter when the doorbell rang.
It's a radio doorbell which frequently rings false, so I
checked the street for a UPS truck. Seeing none, I sat back
down, but then I heard the storm door close, so I went
downstairs to check it out.
I saw a flyer "Why you should trust George Bush more than
John Kerry on terrorism" and I flipped out. The car was
across the street, and the man was coming from my neighbor's
house. I took the flyer to the woman driving and said,
"I wouldn't trust Bush to give me the time of day"
and handed it back to her.
I went back inside and found the front page of today's Bangor
Daily News, with the headline "Senate Report: CIA's
Prewar Analysis False". I grabbed it and headed outside
and started yelling, "have you seen today's
newspaper?" and "do you have an 18-year-old
son?" My intention was to follow them to every house.
They got in the car and drove away. I cased the whole
neighborhood and they were gone. They did wave.
It felt great. Still feels great. I recommend it.
