Bush Wants To Screw Gays And Tinker With The Constitution To Get Elected
WASHINGTON - President Bush says legalizing gay marriage would redefine the most fundamental institution of civilization and that a constitutional amendment is needed to protect it.

Leading the chorus of support for an amendment, Bush said, "If courts create their own arbitrary definition of marriage as a mere legal contract, and cut marriage off from its cultural, religious and natural roots, then the meaning of marriage is lost and the institution is weakened."

Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, accused Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry of holding inconsistent positions. Kerry and running mate Sen. John Edwards oppose gay marriage, but support civil unions.

Bush singled out Massachusetts' Supreme Judicial Court, which called marriage an evolving paradigm. "That sends a message to the next generation that marriage has no enduring meaning, and that ages of moral teaching and human experience have nothing to teach us about this institution," he said.

A constitutional amendment should never be undertaken lightly, Bush said, "yet to defend marriage, our nation has no other choice."

4. There's also not a snowball's chance in hell
That it'll get passed, not to mention ratified. It's all about building up his base. Seriously, these people have no shame -- and all the balls in the world.

5. Who voted for DOMA?
Let's start with Clinton's DOMA, the first intrusion by the federal government into something that had been the role of the States.

Kerry voted against DOMA, but many Democrats voted for it.

Let's continue with the failure to provide job discrimination protection to gays. How come ENDA remains in limbo?

How about the efforts to change your State's Constitution to make gays a lesser class of citizen? Are there any Democrats involved in GOP efforts to define marriage according to Bush's sectarian views?

Bush has already trampled with the Constitution, it is called the PATRIOT Act.
