Kerry's comeback line about Edwards being a "trial lawyer"
Edited on Sun Jul-11-04 12:45 AM by zulchzulu
This needs to be drilled in John Kerry's head. Whenever someone (like Larry King the other night interviewing JK and THK) asks about Edwards having "the liability of being a trial lawyer", he simply has to pepper his response about how "that great American President, Abraham Lincoln, was, at one point, a trial lawyer"...

That would shut them up on that silly notion.

Another angle would be to say that Edwards was smart enough to graduate from law school, unlike Bush who flunked out...

Then John could mention that he is slightly taller than Abe and would be the tallest President so far...if he wants.

4. I didn't even know that Bush went to Law School.
I thought that he didn't even get accepted. I know that he went for an MBA and got one. Couldn't his family have bought him a law degree? Could someone elaborate on this.

9. I just wrote a timeline where he started Law School there in 1972.
He flunked out in 1973.

10. Well, that certainly was well-hidden in 2000. I'd love to see
confirmation. Do you have a cite for an original sources?

12. It was an alternate timeline.
It was Alternate history so there are no sources. Just a little funny thing that I made up.

2. Recent polling showed that a majority of people think that being
a trial lawyer is a good thing. I'll take that info and just let the Republicans shoot themselves in the foot with it.

6. Shrub did not flunk out of law school. His application to TCU was
rejected. IIRC the words used were, "While we believe that there is a place in the world for George Bush, our school isn't it." Shrub is still looking for something other than drinking and drugging that he's good at.

13. TCU=Texas Christian University. IIRC= if I recall correctly. And, no,
that is not a direct quote, but it is pretty close. The words used in the letter of rejection to shrub were not very flattering.

14. Because it costs them money.
So they feel it is very anti-business and, therefore, anti-American. Of course, having to be made accountable for defective products is not something they like to mention; after all, the investor class must have their profits. (sarcasm)

the line about* not even being able to get into law school. Of course the fact that he was turned down by the law school he applied to is not known to the average American, and it shows that he wanted to be a lawyer(the same as Edwards) BUT WASN'T SMART ENOUGH. Now that's a two for one punch. I was just think thinking that a surrogate should be spreading this all over the airwaves; it sounds too conceited for Kerry or Edwards to say it, I suppose.

but they DO still exist, and many a trial lawyer was inspired to enter into this vocation for all the right reasons...a la Finch.
