Dick Cheney is the ideal VP - |
|
or so says Colleen McCain Nelson in the Dallas Morning News. In an article about vice presidents through history and whether they have helped or hurt their running mates, she concludes with "Dick Cheney: the ideal VP. He has no political ambitions of his own and raises buckets of cash." Apparently, she doesn't see any downside to old potty-mouth's criminal activity. This was on the front page of this morning's Cincinnati Enquirer, which is a totally Repub fishwrap/ birdcage liner.

Have you seen the CNN poll this morning? Edwards is burying Cheney! People don't like Cheney's Haliburton connections, his foul mouth, or his arrogant attitude!

why no one is questioning Bush's nonsensical assertion that Cheney is "Ready to be President". This is former official in the Ford administration for heaven's sake. His views are far out of the mainstream. He is still on the payroll of Halliburton. His claims about WMD and Al Quaida have been refuted by every objective investigation. According to Woodward's book on 9/12 Cheney wanted to invade Iraq not Afghanistan. This is strange, dark man. He is hardly "ready to be President'. His lack of fitness for the job should be a major issue.

4. No Political Ambitions |
|
That's one of the more ridiculous things I've seen written about Cheney.
He probably has no burning desire to be President, but he has and has acted upon throughout his career distinct political ambitions.

6. there is nothing wrong with being ambitious |
|
kerry was ambitious and "campaigned" to be vp in 2000. he was open about wanting the vp job unlike the others who gave a non interested answer.
of course edwards did the same this year. and while most presidential candidates end up rejecting people over this, it didn't hurt edwards at all. seeing all the possible vp choices on tv, john edwards was the one who came across as the one most wanting john kerry to win. everytime he spoke on anything, even on issues he didn't have much knowledge on such as foreign policy, he still left the message that " we need john kerry for president to make things better".
and if only dick cheney did just have political ambitions we would be a lot better off.

7. The Dallas Morning News is a Republican newspaper. |
|
I live in Dallas. I hate to read it. I buy it only occasionally for the coupons and inserts (and the gardening pages sometimes). Other than that, the whole thing is Republican propanda from page 1 to the last page.
