1. Powell will not accept. I'd bet my next six paychecks on that. |
|
Bush/McCain is still a losing ticket. At this point I think Bush and anybody is a loser.

like McCain or Powell coudn't get any respect. Those who would suppor those tickets, don't realise what an anti-social troll Cheny is.

3. Powell - no way. Bush Toast. McCain - that's tougher |
|
Except I don't think McCain would go for it.
That said - if you ban all country music, does that include all Fender Telecasters and all pedal steel guitars as well? Would the steel ride on CSNY's "Teach Your Children" count as hate speech, too?
Just curious...

6. Notice how I placed "Music" in quotation marks. |
|
I am questioning whether the Right Wingers who dominate Nashville are really producing "Music" or "Hate Speech", I say it's the second one.
I have no problems with those in Nashville who are Liberal.
Also, I consider, Crosby, Nash, Stills, and Young to be Folk Music, not Country.

Been wanting to use that line for months now.
There's certainly those in Nashville who are capable of hate speech - personally, though, I have trouble calling anyone who rhymes "BinLaden" with "forgotten" a musician OR a speaker.

that change is dangerous during the "war". His only half-ass convincing argument is gone, and he'll soon follow.

9. The neo-cons LOVE Cheney ... |
|
... so Bush, after an initial bump, would lose the core of his support. Plus Kerry could bill it as the ULTIMATE FLIP-FLOP.
The right wing echo chamber would roast that decision.
As long as Kerry doesn't pull away, Bush will keep Dick.

12. Your statement is in error. |
|
Bush does not have the power to replace Cheney.
Perhaps the question should be 'what happens if Cheney replaces Bush with Powell or McCain?'.

13. I doubt either would accept |
|
Powell honestly seems to be worn out and staying around out of misplaced loyalty.
McCain... well... he might, but I doubt it.
If either one did (especially McCain) it would become a more difficult election for us, but ultimately it's about the President, not the VP.

17. Bush would only replace Cheney |
|
With someone who was strongly pro Iraq War. One of the people who were pushing himto got to war without going to the U.N.
To do otherwise would be to sne a signal that going to war in Iraq was wrong, and that is not going to occur. If he replaces Chensey, someone more like Donald Rumsfeld, or Richard Perle would be seelcted, rather than Powell or Mc Cain.

18. If Powell gets the nod.... |
|
I think they win the election. It would be a signal to the undecided that the repugs were looking in a new direction. The base will vote for the ticket no matter who is on it and it would help with the minority vote. Personally, this really worries me since it is a no lose for the ticket. After he wins, he ignores Powell pushes him into the background and lays the groundwork for his serpent like brother.

now. As for McCain, he doesn't even want to be used in campaign ads, he's a personal friend of John Kerry. I dont think he'd go for it?

20. Cheney is key to keeping RW base happy |
|
If Cheney left the ticket for any reason, it would tend to alienate the RW base that Bush is counting on. Powell would not be acceptable to that base. McCain may be acceptable to some degree but he turned down the job in 2000 and would probably not accept it now with the heavy baggage that he would be inheriting.

21. All pundits on Meet the Press/McLaughlin say "Forget it." |
|
Everyone is quite confident Cheney isn't going anywhere. David Broder said something like, "I don't see any situation where that happens."
He's a long time Washington insider. Bush would rather lose than than win without Cheney.
Eleanor Clift says "If Cheney left the ticket that would show the campaign is panicked."
Tony Blankley mumbled something about "Tom Ridge is pro abortion."
Things look good.
