Pat Robertson is gonna ta be vawy vawy mad. Dick told Pat that his daughter being a dyke was Lynne's fault. I mean, her fuc*ing fault.

1. Call me cwazy, but I think parents should love and support their kids.
Mrs. seems to grasp this point a bit more than Mr. does.

Boy howdy... I hope he never has to get off those energy task force papers... the ones that prolly have blueprints for pipelines across Afghanistan and neighbors.... cuz if he does.... he may find that bubba finds him a bit cute... know what I mean?

might not be enough to keep him on the outside if this stuff ever comes to the light of day.

3. This is just politics.
They do the same thing with the abortion issue and other hot button issues. They have the wife(Barbara Bush, Laura, Lynne Cheney, or someone else close to the pres...) take the moderate position.

This gives the illusion that there's someone near the pres, or vp in this case, that has his ear... makes people (moderates, democrats, ...) believe that there's a chance the wife could convince her husband to soften his view, or at least gives them the satisfactionof knowing their more tolerant view is being represented.

But its a con. Its not based on any conviction she has at all; its just political pandering - they get to be on both sides of the issue at the same time this way. And conservatives tolerate it because they know the one that counts is on their side. Very cynical and manipulative, but it works.

4. I agree with you completely..............politics and spin
Why is it that every picture of Dick has him looking like Mr. Potter from "It's A Wonderful Life"? He sure has mastered the sneer!

5. Heh, yep I never thought of that - he really is a dead ringer
for old Mr Potter. I think he has the personality and ethics to match too.
