Poll question: Which toss-up state do you feel BEST about?
Edited on Tue Jul-13-04 08:18 AM by sirjwtheblack
The following are toss-up states listed by www.rasmussenreports.com

Which of these do you feel we have the best shot at winning?

Note: There will be a separate poll for LEAST likely to be won. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x577216

1. We will take them ALL
Actually, I think the Dems will take more than one of those states.

Bush is going DOWN. America is waking UP.

2. I think we'll take more than one of them too
But I just want to know what we feel are the most/least likely for us to gain.

10. The weird thing about Maine is how they feel about Bostonians....
Up until five years ago, we would spend a few weeks in the summer there...down easters etc. can't stand people from Boston. Obviously their summer tourism is boosted by folks from Mass. but there may be a jealousy factor at play. If Maine is in play, it's because Kerry's from Boston MA...and seen as too rich...it's definitely not political.

11. Remember, Maine splits its electoral votes between 2 districts
and I think at least one of those districts should be very competitive.

9. I don't think there can be much doubt that of those, Maine is the safest
followed by Michigan. Or perhaps, most likely for Kerry is the better word than "safest". Michigan has Granolm and Kwame Kilpatrick. But in Maine you've got a state with an emerging hard-left activist community as well as an all dem controlled state government(governor and both houses of the legislature). My only fear is that those Kucinich types will like Nader. Still, it is the democratic-leaning New England swingstate.

12. Is Michigan REALLY a swing state?
I mean, I remember hearing California being called a swing state in 2000!

13. I feel strong about Ohio
I think with Edwards on the ticket he's really going to impress those blue collar workers and swing the state our way.

Ohio has been hit hard by the economy and unemployment and I think Ohio will be looking for change.

Kerry-Edwards can deliever that change.
