Campaigning for Kerry - bribing 'em with "Kerry" cake |
|
I cannot get out much since I care for my son who has major medical issues.
My college age daughter lives in town in a house that has hordes of kids (late teens early 20s) coming and going.
I recently sent over one of my famous homemade carrot cakes (I told her it was a "Kerry" cake) with instructions that no one is allowed to have a piece unless they are registered to vote or promise to register.
She reported back that all her friends thought I was nuts but when I asked, she reported she had learned all of her friends had registered except one.
It was cool that my "Kerry" cake got these kids talking politics.
Next time I'm going to include stamped voter registration forms and ask for their phone numbers so I can call them on election day.
Given her active social life I could easily get 30-40 to the polls with this effort alone. In Florida no less!
