A division created by accident? or not?
While listening to the drone coming from the babbling of the cable news stations, I heard a commentator mention an old poll of the American voters. The poll indicated people want to hit the Republicans more aggressively. This poll was obviously taken BEFORE the people became fed up with the continuation of the Iraq War, BEFORE the economy hit the pocketbooks of most Americans and BEFORE the un knowledgeable voting bloc of the American public realized the Republicans only represent the wealthy.

I suspect it was this same poll which has led to Hillary's attempt to show she is a fighter. It is a shame she didn't listen to some other polls or spend some time in some diners across the US. Maybe she should have even drove down any lower to moderate income street to see the numbers of foreclosed properties on the market. It was apparent to us that ANY clean Democratic candidate could carry the nation in resounding numbers without having to become nasty due to the past seven, long, years.

Had our politicians united behind Obama early in the campaign, we could have shown the media and the world that we do not support the direction the Republicans have taken us. Instead a division was fostered which I am beginning to believe may end with a disastrous outcome. Not only that, but all the bickering will give those who barely watch the news a poorly guided ludicrous reason to vote for their real enemy in the fall. Had there been less of a tear down of our leading candidate, we could have had a very successful campaign with the only concern being the machines counting the votes.

Close your eyes for a minute, put aside your candidate armour and think about this... Had you not chosen Hillary as your candidate you would have been in Barack's corner long ago. You may not have been there 100%, but you would have been there. We would have a truly united party to provide a force to be reckoned with.

In addition, McCain is listening to the polls of the rural voters. He is traveling around speaking to them while we bicker. If this election continues on much longer, our nominee will have little time to visit the states. Less time to visit the states will force him to concentrate upon the more heavily populated areas and leave the rural voters only to hear one voice, John McCain's.

I have spent a great deal of time in rural areas and know Senator Obama's message would be well received. Problem is, he won't have time to deliver it.

1. Who do you think is to blame for this? I have my 'candidate'.
Only one person has prevented the Dem party from going forward and fighting the fight we need to win.

2. I have my candidate, I believe we are on the same team.
When I have to fight battles, I always try to put myself in the opponents shoes. If I were the Republican Party trying to figure out a way to win the election given the past seven years, I would have came to the conclusion the only way would be to divide the opposition. So far, their plan appears to be working. Maybe Hillary's role in this plan has innocently fell into place because of receiving advice from a Republican leaning political campaign company, maybe it is deliberate on her part, who knows?

Regardless, we have to find a way to overcome their marksmanship. Hopefully our team has a plan. I would think they would realize by now (and may have all along) what the Republicans have done and be able to pull this party together. Hillary holds a key to doing this by not only urging her supporters to back Obama but by actively campaigning for him. Maybe she will have the time to reach out to the rural voter? I guess we will soon see if her role has been complicit or not?

3. I've noticed a few things.

The rethugs have been chomping at the bit to run against Clinton; there was a post today claiming they have a lot of 'stuff' on her, which I really believe given the time they've had to collect it. But they've been holding their fire, hoping she gets elected. Here's that thread:

Then, tonight I'm hearing the rethugs are rethinking their strategy, that Obama might be the better candidate to run against because of...Rev. Wright. Yes, that will bring them to victory, or so says CNN. I wonder what will happen once Hagee is compared, which he hasn't been yet.

I'm sure the Dems know what's going on if I/we do. Joe Andrews' switching to Obama from Clinton today couldn't hurt. If you haven't seen it, try to catch his appearance on Olbermann. He was great!

4. I'm not sure at all...
what the reality is. I see Obama everywhere..if I look. I catch town halls, major rallies..and watching them says something very different than what I see and read. There still is something happening. I read posts about racists here and racists there, and how this one will never vote for a black man. And while, I have no doubt that it is true, I wonder for every one of those people how many do not feel that way? And why do the 'racists' have a louder voice than I do? This entire Primary Season has been one hit job after another, and the boomerang effect has always taken me by surprise...so I'm just hanging on to my seat..and trying my best to have the "audacity to hope".
