88. you guys are funny, really
not only do you make remarks that are not based upon reality (who was responsible for FL and MI? - not Dean) but you also ignore that Clinton had and has negatives of over 50% among all Americans. Why would the republicans want to run against her so badly if they thought she was a threat? She'd do more to bring out the republican vote than Pat Robertson.

While Hillary and her supporters' fight seems to be WITH the democratic party, the rest of us will fight FOR the democratic party.

It's time to move beyond the Bush/Clinton era. Howard knew this years ago. Hillary supporters still don't get it.

Have a great day!

it's supposed to mean that a PARTY isn't one person. phone calls, etc. to help raise money are worthwhile ways to spend your political time. If you don't think he's a good leader... maybe you're on the wrong thread? 'Cause this one is in appreciation. Why don't you start your "Howard Dean is not a good leader" thread?

I guess, what I'm trying to say is, if you're so negative, do something positive.

the mcstain hasn't a clue one. It is good but there needs to be more done. When the candidates are engaged in competition to gain the nomination i whole heartedly believe the DNC should be the buffer against the repukes. They are the attack dogs. They are failing on that level.

80. I think the agreements
to team up with the candidates to raise funds will help. They both have an obligation to the party in that respect, in my opinion. I have donated to the DNC and the DCCC several times now, because I am feeling a lot more involved this time around, thanks to my candidate. The same can probably be said for supporters of both. The ads are great and they're very effective, so I am inspired to donate more. I think they did a good job on these.

Anywho, I agree with you on that I would like to see more vocal surrogates from both candidates, the DNC, and I guess the DLC? on defending both of them, and the Democratic agenda. Maybe it's there and I'm just not picking up on it, but it seems I only see Republicans on the t.v. these days.

And it deserved to die, after the DLC senators, like Hillary, caved on Chimpy's war.

Dean would have slaughtered Chimpy in 2004, and they knew it. His 50 state strategy did win 2006. And Obama was paying attention, which is why he's kicking Hillary's DLC warmongering Repuke pandering ass.

Howard Dean & Barack Obama represent the future of the Democratic party. There is no future for, or with, the DLC.

51. the primary in FL was moved up
which was a violation of the committee rules. the goal was for Clinton to wrap the nomination by having these early votes. Both FL and MI were told they would not be allowed to seat delegates but they went ahead with what was, essentially, a worthless primary, KNOWING they would be penalized.

Your state's democratic committee is the one that screwed up.

It's amazing to me that you live in the state and yet do not know the history of this particular primary issue.

101. well, in spite of your overwhelming optimism
http://www.electoral-vote.com/evp2008/Obama/Maps/May04.html

without being the declared nominee he is (slightly) ahead of McCain and is even viable in states that have not voted for a democrat for a while. that's the 50 state strategy.

when Obama is the declared nominee and doesn't have to spend time/energy on the primary, when there is one candidate to support, you will see greater numbers come out in favor of Obama.

84. You do realize that Dean was not the one responsible for that decision
The decision to punish FL and MI by taking away all of their delegates was made by the Rules Committee. Howard Dean is the Chairman, but he is not a member of the Rules Committee. He has chosen to abide by their decision. Do you have any idea how the process works? Personally, I think that it was a mistake. They should have stuck with the default punishment, which was a halving of pledged delegates, and removal of superdelegates. But considering that Harold Ickes, who is part of Hillary's campaign, voted to strip away all of the delegates, it is awfully slimy for them to raise it as an issue.

I will never forget his appearances here and all the efforts he has made to promote Dems & Our Party in GWBush's backyard.

His network here took them head on, and we love him in The Lone Star State.

99. HOWARD SMACKS DOWN FOX NEWS
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/04/howard-dean-on-fox-news-s_n_100023.html

During an appearance on Fox News Sunday this morning, Democratic Party chairman Howard Dean said that Fox's news coverage has at times been "shockingly biased, and I think that's wrong and I just say so right up front." Dean also said he agreed with the netroots campaign to boycott the Democratic debates on the network.

..."When you start bringing up things that have nothing to do with the candidate and nothing to do with the issues, that's race baiting," Dean said on Fox News Sunday in response to a question whether the Wright issue and his ties to Obama hurt Democrats down ticket.

"There's a lot of difference between the Republicans and the Democrats on issues, but the biggest issue of all is we don't use this kind of stuff. We never have used this kind of stuff, and we're not going to start now," said the DNC chairman. "America is more important than the Republican Party, and that's the lesson that the voters are about to teach the Republicans."

100. This is why I love Howard Dean and am lukewarm to Obama
and despise Hillary.

Howard Dean knows who the enemy is and Faux News is the mouthpiece of the enemy.

102. It's Howard's job to do these appearances, not Obama's.
look at previous years... Donna Brazille, MacAuliffe or however you spell his name.. they were the ones who went on these shows.

Dean is great b/c he's not willing to suffer fools as easily as most party insiders. He did give something to Chris Matthews... your network is biased, you're okay... (but obviously Matthews continually looks like a puppet.)

Dean and Obama are about grassroots support. They are the antidote to the DLC (which Hillary represents)

so, a big YES! for Howard
