Okay, folks. Listen up. "The War Room" came out in 1993.
It was a legitimate documentary for general release, available on video and later DVD. It isn't something that was buried in the back of some college film student's collection.

Mickey Kantor served as US Trade Representative from 93-97, and Secretary of Commerce in 96-97.

Do you honestly think that he, as a public figure, cabinet member, and representative of this country, would not have been vetted by both the Clinton administration, Congress, the media, and third party groups? And that him supposedly making a racial slur on a well-known documentary would somehow magically slip by people's consciousness?

Get a grip, people. It's fake. Move on. Anyone who is still claiming the video is real is in some major denial, or alternately letting their agenda get in the way of common sense and decency.

And you wonder why I've been so frustrated by some Obama supporters up to this point.

(By the way, I am an Edwards voter and I am not affliated with either the Obama or Clinton campaign. And to be fair, the whole hubbub about Revererand Wright was the biggest bunk of tripe imaginable and in no way is it an actual campaign issue. But let's call a spade a spade. If something is fake and defamatory, please do the decent thing and denounce it.)

3. The irony is that while certain Obama supporters claim that Hillary Clinton is...
...capable of doing anything to get elected president, the fact of the matter is that they are projecting their ethos onto her.

6. Racist!

Sorry - couldn't help myself!

But you said -- "But let's call a spade a spade."

For Obama supporters, that means you're a closet racist and nothing you say will make any sense.

And of course it's doctored. They're just hoping the damage is already done.

17. Not a racist comment. See this.
Call a spade a spade

Meaning

To speak plainly - to describe something as it really is.

Origin

It might be thought that this derives from the derogatory slang use of the term spade meaning Negro - an American term originating in the 20th century. That view of it as derogatory might also be thought to be supported by this piece from John Trapp's Mellificium theologicum, or the marrow of many good authors, 1647:

"Gods people shall not spare to call a spade a spade, a niggard a niggard."

The phrase is much older than that though. Nicolas Udall, in his Apophthegmes, that is to saie, prompte saiynges. First gathered by Erasmus - translated 1542, has:

"Philippus aunswered, that the Macedonians wer feloes of no fyne witte in their termes but altogether grosse, clubbyshe, and rusticall, as they whiche had not the witte to calle a spade by any other name then a spade."

This refers back to Plutarch's Apophthegmata, 178 BC.

20. Go ahead and sue them. But first, maybe you should google "public figure" and "actual malice."
If I had my way, Hillary never would have taken the primaries into this "his associate said this and now he must denounce it" crap to begin with.

The Hillary camp needs to explain this away one way or denounce him one way or the other- this is how you guys wanted things to be, not me.

10. The Rev. Wright video was around for a long time, too.
Yet it magically appeared on television at just the right time, didn't it?

11. The comments were made under his breath....
...and could have easily been overlooked. You really have to turn up the volume
to hear them.

On what basis are you saying that this video is "fake."

You are guessing.

All we can do is listen to the video and hear his words.

If you watch the real "War Room"--not the clips posted on You Tube--he says the same thing.

How is that fake???

You have no proof that this video is fake or doctored, so I'm amazed that you would start an entire original
post with that unsubstantiated supposition the basis for your entire post.

I can see, suggesting that more vetting of the video is needed--but to adamantly insist that the video
is doctored, is quite the stretch.

21. How about the filmmaker?
He says Kantor never said those words.

Of course, he's lying and it's all part of the Klinton Konspiracy.

God, you people scare me.

13. It's an EXCELLENT film too!
I haven't been following this business about the video, but I have a copy of the War Room, and I've been meaning to watch it again this whole campaign season.

It's an fantastic look at the geniuses behind the Clinton campaign in 1992.

The best line is by George Stephanopoulos when he says "This whole thing has been the biggest exercise in masturbation in history" wrt Perot's bid.

15. Your argument is based on the premise that because Kantor was a public figure
His private behavior would surely have been vetted? By other people who obviously are not outraged by it?

I dispute the premise. Nobody cared what he said about people in Indiana before, and now all of a sudden they need Hoosier votes, so what he said about Hoosiers becomes a legitimate question.

16. Why does one begin to whisper when they were talking in a normal
tone previously? Was someone sleeping in the office they didn't want to wake up? Or were they saying something they didn't want anyone outside of the conversation to hear? Or???

18. Your "logic" reminds me of a joke about two economists walking down the street
They come across a $20 bill and one looks to the other and says "Aren't you going to pick it up?" The other one says "No. It can't possibly be there, someone would have picked it up already"
