Will Dem convention speakers squash the "rage" approach? |
|
I am specifically talking about Gore and Dean. I feel that the convention is not the time or place to get one's panties in a wad. Granted there is plenty reason to feel disgusted about he current administration, but i hope the speakers will tone it down a bit.

1. I expect it'll be upbeat |
|
looking towards the Kerry/Edwards future instead of focusing on the albatross currently around our necks.
And by the way, conventions are carefully staged, while they don't write each speech line by line for each speaker, they are expected to follow the agreed upon theme and their speeches are submitted in advance for approval.

I hope they do expose this administration for what they are and if you want to consider that "rage" fine. Sounds like they won't be carried by the networks anyway so the God almighty "swing voters" who may be offended by people such as Gore and Dean talking about the many sins of this administration will probably not hear them. By the way, Dean's critique of the Bush administration has gone over very well at state Democratic conventions--and he didn't tone it down a bit--as a matter of facts it is just what the delegates wanted to hear.
p.s. the convention will have something for everyone. Upbeat themes and meat and potato attacks.

5. even if not reported live...just like the fundraiser...if the media thinks |
|
it can sell more papers or start up a battle...they will pick up items and take them out of context and help the rethug spin machine.

4. they don't get into a rage.....the media chooses to report it like that |
|
I love that Dean and Gore are willing to speak up and out for the dems since no one else has been willing to ....
and the rage that was reported about Gore was NOT rage...but calmly spoken words that the media chose to report as rage.
Dean raising his voice so supporters can hear is not rage either, but the media
We can not control the media.
Gore and Dean revitalized the party.....let them continue their work. We are still way to far right and need to be energized.
