Bush's speeches: have you noticed?
That the media will stay with the shrub until the speech is over, but will cut away from Kerry's?
No doubt they will cut away from edwards in Iowa.

1. They want to get the applause track at the end
Rove hires and recruits people to stand by the microphones and scream just as Bush's last word is trailing off, so the media catches the applause at the end of the speech, and it always sounds wild and exuberant. Listen for it, it's always the exact same orgasmic screams.

But watch the audience. Even though the recording sounds like wild, unbridled screaming, you unever see anyone in the audience screaming.

2. Yes
Sometimes the media replays comments from Bush over and over for several days afterwards, too. E.g. The smear Bush made about only Cheney being qualified to be President. (That sound-byte must have played at least 15 times in our local newscasts).

3. They just want to give people a chance to figure out what bushie is saying
not that listening to the whole speech makes any difference.

4. A long shot would probably reveal the 50 people
....crowded around behind him
and about 10 people standing in front

Every time I see a Buxh event, I feel like it's a Hollywood soundstage, with careful choreography.....because it is.

Buxh can no longer campaign among real people...everything has to be controlled to protect him from....Uhhh...everybody.

On Monday I saw him at a T-ball game with little kids. He was hamming it up, rubbing the kids on the head, etc.

As it turns out it was on a field he built on the south lawn, the "fans" in the bleachers were White House employees and, oddly enough, members of the NSA. (As seen on CNN)

5. Absolutely it's been going on for quite awhile.
I've noticed a lot of the coverage for Bush is presented differently than for Kerry. For example last week I saw CBS do a story on why some Latinos are voting for Bush. It went on for over 5 minutes or more. There was no counterpoint as to why some are voting for Kerry it was all Vote Bush, Vote Bush, Vote Bush. There was another example from a day earlier but I can't remember the specifics on it though it was in the same vain. It's disgusting and if Kerry gets elected he should go after the media hard. If they can't be responsible and present coverage in an equal fashion then they need to have their licenses taken away.

6. As little as I watch any of them, you are right on. They make sure
they stay with him and voice over Kerry or Edwards.
If this media gets much more liberal I won't be able to stand it.

7. The media never broadcasts speeches.
Never confuse pay cable TV with the "media". Cable TV has an abysmal audience. No one wastes the time. There are those that have to watch and whine about it. Please spare us your reports. With 100 channels who would watch this garbage?

8. Second post in an hour
talking about just not watching this stuff rather than standing up to it. Interesting.

Re: "the media never broadcasts speeches", if we exclude "cable TV" from the media (and I'm struggling to figure out why we should), we are still left with broadcast television which I'm pretty sure broadcasts speeches on occassion. Unless of course the state of the union address doesn't count as a speech in your dictionary.
