7/14- Dr. Fate's Daily activism update!!!

I am starting a daily activism update-

The idea is for DUers to "brag" or share what we did TODAY to help elect Kerry/Edwards.

The POINT is to reinforce each other and INSPIRE those who have not gotten involved yet.

Well, today I canvassed the streets and raised $200 dollars for GOTV in swing states.

Yesterday I raised $209.00- soo that makes my personal total $409.00...

Not bad eh?

SO- what did YOU do TODAY???

and i did absolutely nothing :(

not even my usual letter writing or call to congress,

just put 140 miles on the car with the Kerry sticker on the back (does that count?)

2. There is always this weekend...

...write a letter to the editor, register your nieces & nephews to vote, stuff envelopes or work a phone bank, put up signs...

3. i'm going to a Women for Kerry thing and walking 4 blocks of my

precinct

no neices or nephews and I did protest Ashcroft last week when he came to town :D

6. Yes, time permitting. I generally post daily.

These activism threads are generally unpopular, (go figure- but most DUers prefer flame arguments or scandal threads)- so keep a look out!

7. Great Idea!

Please do it everyday. It will sound completely off subject but I go to another site with a thread called clutter buddies and we write in on what we have accomplished. Just knowing you will write everyday keeps you doing lots of stuff.

Today was more laid back for me. Went to DNC meetup last night and checked out a lot of the sites given. Signed up to volunteer locally online. Also signed up for houseparty on Sunday and on convention day 29th. The first one is to gather together things we are doing locally. Beyond that I started my new book by Anonymous. I figure we have to be informed and learn all we can because when we get asked questions, we'd better have some good answers!

I'll look for your posts ... and I'll try to have something worthwhile to say in them at some point. :) Can you go into a little more detail about how exactly you raised money in the last two days? Are you selling buttons, asking for donations, etc?

Here is some ground beef to celebrate!

11. I'll use it my brand new creation: "Beef Burgernoff"

1 1/2 lb grnd Beef
Carton of mushrooms
1 onion of choice

3 tbsp butter & 3 or 4 tbsp of flour
Container of Sour cream
tbsp lemon juice
tbsp mustard (dijon)
1/4 cup red wine
1 can beef stock
Salt, pepper, red pepper, parsley

Bag of egg noodles

Well- those are most of the ingredients- you figure out the rest!
