2. I have a huge front porch! I want them to come to my house!
I live in Illinois so it isn't very likely. They don't have to come here to win this state.

It can be a bummer living in a solid blue state sometimes!

3. Oh my goodness,
Can you imaging answering a knock at your door to find Kerry or Edwards standing there? Wow. I would be thrilled, of course, they would be preaching to the choir, but I would be really impressed.

5. They're calling this The Front Porch Tour
Edited on Thu Jul-15-04 04:51 PM by rmpalmer
Great idea - great photos. I hope * doesn't take this up. Course he'd never show up in my neighborhood. But imagine opening your front door to find Chimpy or Cheney standing there. I wouldn't be able to slam the door fast enough.

Here's email from Kerry/Edwards campaign on this tour.

Dear RM,

Do you have a story John Kerry and John Edwards need to hear?

John Kerry kicks off his front porch tour of America in Lansdowne, Pa. today. From now to Election Day, Kerry and Edwards will visit peoples' homes, sit on their front porches, and talk about why this election is so important to America's families. They will listen to peoples' stories and discuss the values we live by every day: family, responsibility, service, opportunity, inclusion, fairness, and faith.

While we can't meet with everyone face to face, we want to hear from you. Please share your story and tell us why this election matters to you. We will read every one of your responses, and share the most compelling stories by posting them on JohnKerry.com.

Please take a minute right now to click on the link below and share your story.

Here are some questions you can start with:

How has the economy affected your family? Do you have access to affordable health care? Has your college tuition increased? Are you struggling to provide your children the education they need to succeed? Do you have a son or daughter serving in the military? Are you a veteran? What values matter most to you?

Click the link below to share your story.

This is a campaign about building a stronger America. We can't let the relentless attack ads of the Bush-Cheney campaign drown out your voice. Thanks to your support, we have been able to fight back against these ads in key battleground states. Please continue your support and tell your fellow Americans why this election matters to you.

Thank you,

Mary Beth Cahill
Campaign Manager

7. These are great pics.... I see they are hitting the middle class
as they promised. The middle class has been a platform issue with them and that's good. We need to help those good folks.

I might like to see them go door to door in the "low rent" district...think that might happen?

9. Wow. That is so cool.
Can you imagine having Kerry or Edwards come knock at your door?

This is a brilliant way to bypass the media filter and talk directly to voters.

This is also the perfect way to break through voter cynicism. Voters get a chance to see that Kerry and Edwards are real people who listen and care. People will be much less likely to believe the attacks in Bush's commercials.
