Ha Ha...that FL rally at the DNC was much more than it seemed. LaRouche involved. Getting ugly.
Edited on Sat May-03-08 02:39 PM by madfloridian
Remember the rally in front of the DNC last week? You know, the one where Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Corinne Brown, other Florida leaders led a so-called neutral group of protestors? Even Hilda Solis was there. She is another Clinton superdelegate. Remember that rally?

Florida's Hillary supporters protest at DNC, pretend they are not Hillary supporters.

We will shut down the convention!" exclaimed Rep. Corrine Brown. "If we are not seated, then nobody is going to be seated!"

Brown, a superdelegate pledged to Clinton, addressed a crowd of about 150 who had been bused up to D.C. from Florida this week under the auspices of LULAC, an Hispanic advocacy group. Though Brown and another super who spoke -- Rep. Hilda Solis -- are in the Clinton camp, organizers went out of their way to remove any hint that they favored one or the other Democrat in the race. Many in the crowd wore T-shirts with the name of each Democratic candidate, from Kucinich to Dodd to Richardson to Obama, printed across the back in the shape of a rainbow. There was but one Hillary '08 shirt or button to be seen.

"We're not supposed to talk about that," confided Harriet Meltzer, 83, a member in good standing of the Del Ray Democratic Club, though she allowed that she was, in fact, a Clinton supporter.
"What's he going to do when he goes to the Middle East?" she asked of Obama, who she deems to be lacking in experience. "Charm them?

Pretending to be who they were not? Oh, but wait....there's more. Lot's more.

Lyndon LaRouche folks were these as well...very proud of their involvement. Very proud of the vitriol toward Dean and the DNC. They even told us why the FDR group decided to use those initials for their group to fight the DNC.

This is a very telling piece of propaganda from the LaRouche group. Might I say to the Florida Democrats involved in this....ever heard of the words "strange bedfellows"?

Howard Dean Can't Count

May 2, 2008 (LPAC)--The LaRouche Youth Movement intervened at a Protest of the DNC with the necessary policies to save the nation. According to the "Florida Demands Representation" (FDR) website, one of the groups which rallied on Capitol Hill this week to demand the seating of the Florida delegation at the Democratic National Convention, the group will escalate with a series of demonstrations around Florida, coupled with circulation of a petition demanding the seating of the delegates from the Jan 29th primary. Rallies are planned for Tallahassee, Tampa, Orlando, Saint Augustine, and West Palm Beach.

..."The petition declares that in not recognizing the Florida primary vote, the DNC is acting against democratic principles by disenfranchising and alienating voters who acted in good faith, and shall result in protest votes for other candidates, or worse, lack of future participation in the electoral process. The website explains that the acronym "FDR" was chosen for the organization to remind the Party of Franklin D. Roosevelt's leadership during the last depression to move people to regain faith in themselves.

LaRouche Youth Movement organizers at the Capitol Hill demonstration characterized the mood among the event-goers as one of "positive havoc" noting that rage was rightfully directed at DNC Chair Howard "the Scream" Dean whose failure to count the vote they denounced as "criminal." The LaRouche Youth organized with LaRouche's latest statements around the necessary economic policies that is needed to shape the upcoming election. People in the crowd demanded that Dean show his face, but instead were addressed by a token ethnic DNC staffer sent out to mollify Hispanics among the LULAC delegation at the rally. The Youth also reported that most demonstrators were well aware of the economic crisis and eagerly took the latest literature from the LaRouche PAC.

Dear Florida Democratic leaders, Dear Debbie WS, who is said to be a possible future DCCC chair...Dear Corinne Brown who is like a stuck recording demanding the Howard Dean resign...have you heard the old saying? If you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas.

These are Hillary Clinton supporters in Florida. In this group are many I used to respect. When loyalty to candidate demands you use tactics like this...you lose your credibility.

You are threatening Governor Dean and the DNC that if Florida does not get its way you will harm the party come November

Who is using whom...Florida using LaRouche or vice versa?

1. Dear "48 state" Howie Dean
Some of us have been informed as to what you have been saying behind closed doors to a few pundits from the other side. Your tenure is over if it is true and you well know it.

15. What a logical, reasonable, well-thought out argument.
In fact, the whole argument for why Florida should get to break the rules with no consequence is a logical, well-reasoned argument all the way around.

32. You are not supposed to call another memebr a "Republican" on this board.
read the rules.

Since when is disagreeing with the head of the Dem Party such treason? Since when are Dems so conformist where they are all supposed to agree with everything and become such rule followers. What a turn off!

Part of the reason I joined the party was because they were NOT that way.

as a huge debacle

As a leader, he is a failure of epic proportions and as a human being, he is a huge disappointment.

33. Debacle? I don't think that word means what you think it means...
Dean developed a strategy that has gotten a Democratic majority in -both- houses for the first time in years.

The DLC had a "strategy" that involved us slowly losing seats.

Who knows what Dean could be accomplishing if he wasn't being actively undermined by members of his own party..

Thank God Lyndon LaRouche is right there with the Hillary supporters to provide tactical backing.

13. How about that....
Buses and noise for the Fl. voters that were "so called" disinfranchised. Of course, the voters that were told their vote wouldn't count wearn't disinfranchised? But thats another story.

Now, the voters in NC that were at least suspected of being disinfranchised, suspected enough to have WVWV (with Clintonites at the helm) slapped with a cease and desist order

*crickets*

I suppose one can draw their own conclusion that only Clinton voters can be disinfranchised?

Thats my opinion, the way I see it. But, I am a tad partial, admitted.

Two unbelievable things, indeed.

Since when do candidates try to break and damage the party chairman.

Her campaign has tried over and over.

They set out to hurt Obama through his http://journals.democraticunderground.com/madfloridian/2042"> their own words

It is mind-boggling.

they make sense, up until the point that they take this righthand turn into crazy-land.

Look, I feel bad for the Floridians and Michiganers. Split the delegates 50-50, or 60-40, or whatever. Just get it over with so people can STFU.
