*'s family "values"
no regard for our environment

no regard for the rule of law

tremendous focus on initiating a unprecedanted preemptive war at enormous cost on a sovereign nation that posed no "clear and present" danger to our homeland or our citizens

no exit strategy for post conflict stabilization

great appreciation for war profiteering

great appreciation for turning a surplus into a deficit

great enjoyment of enriching his buddies at our & our kids' expense

great secrecy

not counting Iraqi deaths or acknowledging our dead and wounded soldiers

abhorrence towards the Geneva Convention, habeus corpus, the UN, the international court, and all of our former allies' concerns

encouragement of the torture of innocents and children to extract
no information

not funding "no child left behind"

love of bogus intelligence

I could go on but it's making me nauseous.

How can this moran stand on his "values" when he doesn't even
comprehend "thou shalt not kill, steal. . .etc.?"

Values "schmalues." This issue should be a total none starter.

1. I am just as baffled as anyone. I really don't understand.
The Shrub's strongest, most steadfast supporters appear to be the religious right, and of course the corporatists who bankroll his administration. I understand why the corporatists support him. But what in the world has gotten into the Christian right?

I know people who support Shrub. They do so out of a religious conviction. They believe that he is a "godly man." They are otherwise thoughtful, educated, intelligent people.

I can understand wanting Christian prayer in schools, abortion to be outlawed, and the Ten Commandments pasted on every public building. I totally disagree, but I can understand why some people want them.

I don't understand how anybody could possibly support this administration in the face of their proven lies, this horrendous war, everything....

It's like there is some kind of mass hysteria going on. It reminds me of the Middle Ages. People reacted to the Plague with insane behavior.

2. the only theory I can come up with for *'s poll and approval ratings. . .
(I've posted this theory before so excuse the redundancy) In as much as I loathe most psychological labels. . .

I think his supporters are suffering "en masse" from Stockholm syndrome, wherein one is lulled into a fall sense of security by their abductors, captors, or abusers. *'s actions have incited more anti-Americanism around the world & suffering in the mideast than any other so-called human being. This will inevitably result in more terrorism. But oh I forgot, "america is safer."

ughhhhh

5. he really hasn't done squat about any fundy issues
beyond cancelling international family planning funding (which increases infanticide, the third world alternative to birth control) and pass a law against a little used medical procedure that will not stand constitutional muster.

I keep pointing out to fundies that Bush is the most unchristian president this country has ever had, from his lavishing wealth on the wealthy to his abandonment of the poor and the sick in favor of giveaways to rich corporations, to his starting wars against people who never did anything to us. I lay it on thick.

They listen, oddly enough.

Or did we forget the 'thou shalt not kill' commandment...

3. It's called hypocrisy...
Merriam-Webster:A feigning to be what one is not or to believe what one does not:the false assumption of an appearance of virtue or religion.

4. Brainwashed
by their preachers, these fundies focus on one or two issues, such as abortion. They believe the lies fed to them by their ministers, who, of course, love the power they get from being part of the Bush Evil Empire.

(True story: My husband, who is a mechanic, had to take a customer's car out for a long run to make a computer code come up. While he was doing so, he listened to a tape of a minister that was on the tape deck. The minister read a passage from the Bible and then proceeded to tell them what it meant-and what he told them was the exact opposite of what the passage said. It gave him chills, because the congregation cheered and was agreeing with the preacher! These are the deluded minions of Bushco.)
