BPW/USA Endorses Kerry-Edwards Ticket
At their national convention held in Ft. Lauderdale, BPW/USA (which I am a member of) endorsed the Kerry-Edwards ticket. BPW was holding their 85th annual convention. Over 700 women attended representing members from all over the US including PR, the Virgin Islands, and American Samoa. This is only the third time in our history that we have endorsed someone for president. BPW/PAC tried to give the Kerry campaign a PAC check for $10,000 but it was returned because the campaign said that it is there policy to not accept PAC money. The $10,000 can go to other candidates now.

FYI - A woman representing bush came on Wednesday night. She had the gaul to claim that bush had done a lot for women. Very tepid response.

Just thought you all would like to know.

5. BPW Information
BPW was started to help women get the right to vote in this country. Alice Paul was one of the founders. It is considered to be the leading advocacy group for women (please no flames). At last year's conference, we passed a resolution against Wal-Mart which received national attention. The Wal-Mart battle is still being waged, but BPW's stand against them got the ball rolling.
