I absolutely am fascinated by some of the grassroots candidates I am meeting and learning about lately. So many are doing their own work with just family or a couple of friends involved, no paid staff. Just footwork.
Here is a blog post by the wife of Tony Ford, a new Dean Dozen from TN, a candidate for the school board of Rutherford County.
SNIP...Hi,I'm Lori Ford,Tony's wife for the last 18 years. I'd like to take a moment to say thank you to all of you who have donated money, time and comments to this campaign and web page. Tony and Caroline have worked extremely hard to put this site together and I'm proud of them. Caroline has a gift and I'm glad she is able to use her talent to help her dad. Over coffee early this morning, Tony asked me what my favorite campaign moment was so far and I surprised him with my reply. Two weekends ago,Caroline, Tony and I went out to knock on doors, distribute literature and talk about Tony's ideas to over 300 people. During our time out in the neighborhood downtown, Caroline and I were on opposite sides of the same street meeting people and talking when the clouds opened up and a downpour followed. Caroline and I had so much fun trying to stay dry and finish the area we promised to complete. We met some wonderful people, saw some rainbows, had alot of laughs and some sore feet!
