North Carolina Senate: Bowles leads by ten points
Erskine Bowles, the democrat who is battling for John Edwards senate seat continues to lead Richard Burr in their race--48% to 38% with 14% undecided. Bowles, who lost to Elizabeth Dole in 2002, though coming closer than expected, leads in all regions of the state except the triad.

Good news, so far for our senate hopes in NC.

2. This makes me so happy...I was really bummed
when the intelligent Bowles lost to the shrill dole in 2002.

How funny if they are both Senators from North Carolina under a Kerry administration and Erskine shows her so up.

5. Trust me, this race will tighten up considerably
I would be surprised if Bowles ended up with more than 51% of the vote, which is about what Edwards himself got six year ago. Bowles is currently leading because he is much better known, having run for the second two years ago.

11. I agree.
I'd say it's Bowles' to lose, but depending on Burr's strength and the Presidential race, it could go either way. Let's not take this seat for granted, because there's really no reason Bowles shouldn't be ahead by 10% or more.

8. Great news!
I have friends here in MI that are from NC and are good friends with EB. They are down there all the time working on his campaign.

Glad their efforts are showing results. :toast:

9. This is no suprise
Here in NC. Burr is a relative unknown. Who all he can say is "Bush wants me to be Senator" no ideas no vision. Bowles will win by a landslide. As will our Democratic Governor.

Get to work Edwards. So that when the voters hit the button for the other Dems on the ballot they do the same for Kerry-Edwards.
