HRC's campaign will be "suspended" on Wednesday or Thursday. |
|
She completely blew it with her threats of "nuclear option". This has angered the SD's and even the Clinton-supporting SD doesn't even like what she just did. My feelings is that Daschle, a SD from South Dakota, has been fielding calls - talking to everybody, and sharing the same consensus - if Clinton tries that path (and it has been confirmed that she will), a mass-exodus from "committed" HRC superdelegates will occur by Wednesday, and giving Obama the necessary numbers by Wednesday or Thursday to end HRC's dream. Obama needs about 273 more delegates, and he'll get the half tomorrow, and the rest by Wednesday.
I don't think the Democratic Party will let HRC tear apart the Party if this continues. They will end it this week, if necessary.
Dean and Pelosi have their own super-bloc of dedicated (and loyal Democrats) SD's that will place fresh cement into HRC's coffin of her presidential "coronation".

Its not gonna happen. The ONLY thing that happens is they get pressured to back off the nuclear option. That's it, and even THAT would be a stretch.

Anyone find it odd how 1-4 SD decide a day they are supporting Obama?

I don't believe ANYONE wants to get blamed for being the 2x4 that finally gets Hillary's attention. It'll be a steady, implacable, daily movement of pledges to Obama. If someone were to arrange a 'bomb' or if Carter or Gore or any other Grand Guru were to slap her upside of her head then they'd be the "Villain" that "stole" Hillary's "good chance" to "win" ... at least in the "minds" of her sycophants. The scenario awaited is that she "decides" for the "good of the party" to acknowledge "the will of the Democratic base" and "support an excellent candidate."
They're doing EVERYTHING they can to let Hillary save face. (Whether she has the sense to realize it is questionable.)

... a pre-scheduled, slow trickle of SDs where Obama's lead builds over time.
The party obviously does not want to publicly humiliate Hillary - although she has done everything to deserve it.

Obama will widen his lead after tomorrow. Then, more Super Delegates will declare for Obama. The Clintons are running out of favors to call in.

45. Woops, I guess we forget that her corporate backers will continue to fund "the distraction"... |
|
Edited on Mon May-05-08 04:42 PM by calipendence
as long as they are able, so that they can help McCain in the election down the road and also distract us from so many other things that they don't want us to see now (FISA bill "compromises", etc.). They'll take care of Hillary's campaign debt well if she "complies", even if it gets to the point (which I think it already has) where it is definitely hurting her more than helping her image-wise to continue. She'll at least be able to pay her bills then, and probably get some nice revolving door position if and when she retires (which might be earlier soon if she continues to the point where it screws up her senatorial reelection too).

I will not vote for anyone who is willing to steal my vote from me and I won't even debate the option. I would not only support a third party candidate for president but down the entire line as I would no longer be a Democrat.
That is what Hillary is doing to the party.

When I heard all the house Supers hadd made their decissions know privately to both campaigns late last week, I sensed a change in tone from both Obama and Clinton. They seem to me at least to be preaching more democratic unity.
