IT's starting to look like a "toughness gap."
His chant: "Yes, we can." Her chant: "Yes, we will."
Obama likes to say, "I may be skinny, but I'm tough." Hillary throws back shots and threatens to obliterate Iran.

He complains about tough questions from George Stephanopoulos and Charlie Gibson. She sits down with Bill O'Reilly.

A Fox News poll released Wednesday found that 61 percent of Democrats describe Clinton as "tough," but only 23 percent say that about Obama.

The boys are swooning. The president of an Indiana steelworkers local union introduced Clinton as the "individual with testicular fortitude" to deal with the nation's problems.

And I love the last part!

When Kerry didn't respond to the swift-boat ads, people wondered, "If he won't stand up for himself, how can I trust him to stand up for me?"
Now they may be asking the same about Obama.

You think someone who has been impliedly called too black to win, not black enough to win, unqualified, then elitist, vague, naive, too young, a "kid" (Bill Clinton called him that), a "boy" (some KY politician called him that), a liar (his own former pastor called him that)....well, you get the idea.

After all that...HE....IS.....WINNING. He's not winning because he's failing to fight back. He's fighting back in a different way than you are used to. Voters aren't throwing him votes just 'cause he's a good guy. OBAMA HAS ANSWERED ALL THE INSULTS, ALL THE ACCUSATIONS. And he's still standing. He has come farther than Clinton can ever dream of going.

If you think a biracial kid from Chicago who ended up practically being the Democratic nominee, against all odds, hasn't had to learn how to defend himself along the way, then you don't know much about life.

He doesn't stand on a stump, raise his hand in the air, and shrilly yell, "I'm a fighter!" That's not his style. But his style apparently works. He's winning."

The underlying premise of the modern conservative movement is that the entire Democratic party consists of a bunch of fags and dykes who are both too effeminate and too masculine to properly lead the nation.

As critical as it is to them to feminize Democratic and liberal males (and to masculinize the women), even more important is to create false images of masculine power and strength around their authority figures. The reality of this masculine power is almost always non-existent. The imagery is what counts.

This works exactly the same as the images of moral purity that they work so hard to manufacture, whereby the leaders they embrace -- such as Gingrich, Limbaugh, Bill Bennett, even the divorced and estranged-from-his-children Ronald Reagan and Coulter herself -- are plauged by the most morally depraved and reckless personal lives, yet still parade around as the heroes of the "Values Voters."
