Hillary has serious momentum. New AP/ Ipsos Poll
http://www.ipsos-na.com/news/pressrelease.cfm?id=3909

new AP Ipsos national poll has just been released. Hillary has some serious momentum happening.

Clinton (47%) Overtakes Obama (40%) Nationally On Eve of Indiana And North Carolina Primaries ; Poll Shows Clinton Campaign Picking Up Steam With Democrats Nationally 47% say that if the 2008 Democratic presidential primary or caucus was being held in their state today, they would choose Clinton, while 40% would vote for Barack Obama.

These results are in contrast to a poll conducted by Ipsos from April 23rd to April 27th and released last week which showed that Obama had a forty-six percent to forty-three percent lead over Clinton on this same question.

Hillary's greatest support is coming from women with high school education or less and low income voters. The margin of error is 3.1%.

17. Not really.
47-40 isn't enough to make up her deficit by a long shot.

nomination race which is virtually out of her reach. Actually it will alter it a bit, IMO, by making it even FURTHER from her reach.

Her staff confirmed that they plan to "go nuclear" -- in service of their boss' obviously craven and out of control ego.

Other national polling, by the way, does not reflect this outcome, but rather shows Obama re-establishing his lead despite the Wright controversy.

Hillary Clinton's absurd circus stunt gas tax holiday is not helping her at all. Nor should it.

6. Not as I read the steaming entrails. Delegates are drifting to Obama.
And away from Clinton.

The ship has not officially sailed.

But the crew is just about ready to depart.

All aboard!

10. Saracat, here's an opportunity to discuss the issues.
You've had to zoom off in a mad rush in previous posts.

At last we can have the opportunity to compare and contrast.

Lincoln? Experience? Lost leads? Grassroots organization? County-level Democratic support? Fundraising? Management of strategy? Speaking styles? Support of McCain?

Where to start?!

9. HRC 47 McCain 42..............BO 46 McCain 42...........So who cares? The dem race is over.
Clinton would garner 47% of the popular vote, with McCain picking up 42% of the vote. Should Barack Obama go up against McCain in November, 46% of Americans say they would vote for Obama compared to 42% who would vote for McCain.

21. Then they must be ignored by the Hill supporters
They are just having a hard time with the math here. She needs more than "momentum" she needs like 85% of everything left and as IF!!

I love how the media is always saying how people are so turned off by Wright, etc., bullshit, everyone I know feels as I do, my respect for Hillary has sunk like a stone the last few weeks. Both she and Bill have just blown it, run a crappy campaign and insulted our intelligence more times than I can count.

That result is reflected in other polls as well.

It's too late for "momentum" in the primaries, she's cooked there. She needs Super Delegate momentum, and Obama has it.

29. She has serious momentum with SuperD's too!
Momentum towards the toilet. She has been losing ground in superdelegates since Iowa. Her once vast lead has now been cut to +15 at last count. More are lined up for Obama than have announced.

More importantly national polls are not the measure of how this campaign is going. The nominee is not decided by the polls. They are decided by primaries and caucuses. Delegates and superdelegates.

Moral of the story: she lacks any positive momentum in any area that actually COUNTS.
