A complete stranger gave me a Kerry bumper sticker today!
I was driving down I-75 and saw a car with two Kerry bumper stickers on it. I honked and gave them the thumbs up sign. The driver caught up to me and began waving Kerry bumper stickers at me. She flagged me down and gave me two stickers. Turns out she is a delegate to the Dem convention next week. Hers was the 4th car I saw today with Kerry stickers on it! Yesterday I saw 2 and one that said "Somewhere in Texas a village is missing its idiot". In 2000, I saw only one Gore bumpersticker during the entire campaign. The tide is beginning to turn, even in SW Florida.

2. The Tide's a Turnin'!
As I've become more outspoken, it's become apparent to me that I'm not alone. People comment on my "Like a Rock, only Dumber" button on my purse. The girl at the counter liked my "Give Peace a Chance" t-shirt. The guy at the gas station high fived me when I said we needed a new President (the station is merging and he's losing his job). Little drips, but it's happening!

10. Saw 4 yesterday in Merritt Island
Seeing more each week, someone tried to peel ours off, my husband yelled at him, he gave us the finger and got back in his car and took off. We couldn't get his tag number. I think they are getting desperate. I have not seen any B/C stickers at all. We have stickers ordered giving them to our kids to post on their cars.

5. I've seen a few
Kerry bumper stickers and even a "Republican Health Plan: Don't Get Sick" bumper sticker around Tampa but I haven't gotten mine in return for my donations yet.

That's just as well, they could get your car keyed around here and I'd rather they plowed my bumper sticker money back into the campaign.

It's nice to know there are a few libs in Western Fl.

7. Welcome to DU DaveClearwater99
For years, I felt totally alone here in SW FL. I just learned that there are 13 registered Dems on my street alone. I signed up to be a block captain. I can't wait to find out which of my neighbors are closet dems (like I used to be).

11. I moved here from
Cambridge Mass and before that Connecticut so it was total culture shock for me. I never realized that a lot of the US is like this.

6. I've done that before a couple times
Edited on Wed Jul-21-04 02:36 PM by zulchzulu
Once someone gave me a thumbs-up for my Kerry sticker and I had one to hand to him at the intersection. Another time, I was at an airport and heard some guy mumbling about a Bush story on CNN and I walked over and gave him a Kerry button. Both times, it was great!

It should be easier for people to get buttons and stickers in their town. I know about www.kerrygear.com and www.kerrymart.com, but it should be even easier.

So arm yourself with stickers and buttons and put a Kerry sticker on your car. You never know when someone will want one.

12. Great Idea!
I just ordered a bunch of bumperstickers and buttons to hand out. I put my button on my purse and the sticker on the inside of the back window of my car (so it can't be stolen or defaced).

8. Very cool. I'm torn about mine:
Do I put my DU and Kerry/Edwards '04 stickers on the case for my guitar, the case for my bass, or on my car's bumper?

9. I gave buttons away at Macy's
The clerk commented on my Kerry-Edwards button and I told her I had a bag full in my car (but I didn't have my own car with me.) I went back the next day and she and a few other clerks were thrilled to get buttons.

Hang to those campaign items, folks. I understand the campaign isn't spending as much this year on give-aways.

15. my husband's boss is a republican
who will not be voting for Bush this time. But he keeps this information very private. I am uncertain if his motive is fear or embarrassment. But it does make one wonder how many people are out there keeping mum, or even lying to pollsters. Thousands upon thousands I am hoping !

16. Sounds familiar
I recently met a wonderful woman in her 70s who was always independent/leaning repug. She said her main goal in life was to see Dubya defeated.
