Voter Action will be monitoring the elections closely today, here's their info: |
|
I received this in an email:
Dear Friends,
As North Carolina and Indiana prepare for their state primaries tomorrow, there has been widely reported news regarding voter registration confusion and voter ID concerns.
As in Pennsylvania's primary on April 22nd, Voter Action, as part of our Watch the Vote 2008 Project in collaboration with the NAACP National Voter Fund, will join in monitoring the 1-866-MY-VOTE-1 hotline.
Voter Action's legal director, John Bonifaz, will be stationed in Raleigh, North Carolina with the NAACP's National Voter Fund, Info Voter Technologies and Voterstory.org, monitoring voter calls and complaints as they are recorded and standing by -- ready to advocate on behalf of voters and take legal action if necessary.
The 1-866-MY-VOTE-1 national election hotline is available to assist with questions, direct people to polling locations and register complaints 24 hours a day in both English and Spanish.
Watch the Vote consortium partner, Voterstory.org created an online form that enables voters to register their experiences via the web.
Data collected in North Carolina and Indiana will be analyzed as part of a report that will include the thousands of calls generated so far from this year's primary season. This data will be critical in identifying patterns and trends in regards to barriers to voting and other issues that will need to be addressed prior to November's general election.
Protect your elections. Protect the primary. Protect November. Democracy is up to you.
CALL: 1-866-MY-VOTE-1
