If Obama supporters or Clinton supporters won't vote for the one who wins in the general then to hell with you! I'm sick of this childish threat. We won't support him. We won't support her. Fine with me. The Democratic party doesn't need a bunch of whining spoiled fucks in the party anyway. I wouldn't want a fucking fair weather friend around when the chips are down anyway. So go ahead get the fuck out of the party. This party is bigger than either of these candidates & if you don't understand that then we don't fucking need you. We need people with backbones who will stand up for democrats at all times, unless they break the law. If you are a progressive then vote for a progressive in the primary. If you are a centrist then vote for a centrist in the primary. But don't fucking threaten not voting for a dem in the GE. Save yourself the hot air & go Republican & shut the fuck up about it, we don't need you! We want a strong party not a bunch of sniveling fucking whiners!
& if you do walk away ENJOY BAT SHIT CRAZY MCCAIN!

1. Actually we do need them |
|
Do we want them? No. Do we need their votes to win? Yes.

2. Dude, it's unhealthy to keep things bottled up...tell us how you really feel. |
|
:P
Agreed, though perhaps I would have tried for a more persuasive approach.

3. you might want to read the site's rules |
|
"Members are expected to be generally supportive of progressive ideals, and to support Democratic candidates for political office. Democratic Underground is not affiliated with the Democratic Party, and comments posted here are not representative of the Democratic Party or its candidates."
So - if someone here decides to support A Democrat, even though not necessarily the Party's candidate, that is within the rules. That would include voting for another Democrat through a write-in. This site is "not affiliated with the Democratic Party".
You might try a little tolerance with differing views. That would support "progressive ideals", would it not?

is that if you are threatening to not vote for the democrat then you don't have a progressive idea & shouldn't be on this site. I accept all types of ideas except for voting for McCain over Hillary or Barack.

6. well - I certainly disagree with that |
|
What if one is a true progressive - and does not care for either Hillary or Barack? That does not mean you have to vote for mccain. Nor does it mean you do should skip voting. You do have a write-in option.

5. You are right about one thing - it is a childish threat |
|
Nothing more. And not as common among posters here as you might think - it might just seem that way to you if you are overly sensitive to it (as it appears you are). So my suggestion is to try to just ignore such comments. Certainly you aren't their parent!
