Kerry Press Release: Still waiting for a Bush Domestic Agenda
For Immediate Release
July 22, 2004

GEORGE W. BUSH: 1,298 DAYS LATER
AMERICAN FAMILIES ARE STILL WAITING FOR A DOMESTIC AGENDA

You don't suddenly become president when its time to run for reelection. In the 1,298 days since bush has taken office, 4 million have lost health insurance, 1.8 million jobs have been lost and four million young people have dropped out of high school. That's what a lack of a domestic agenda will do for a nation. It shouldn’t take a political campaign to focus on families.

After 1,298 days in office, he has yet to offer middle-class families his plan for the future. America shouldn’t have to wait for an election to get help with health care costs and education. John Kerry and John Edwards will work every day to address the middle class squeeze and offer hope to America’s families.

· In 1,298 Days, Health Care Premiums Have Increased by $2,600. In the United States, the total family premium for health insurance has increased by $2,630 to $9,068. Out-of-pocket costs and prescription drug prices have also dramatically increased under Bush. George W. Bush has done nothing to address this challenge. (Kaiser/HRET Survey of Employer-Sponsored Health Benefits, 2003)

· In 1,298 Days, Nearly 4 Million Have Lost Health Insurance. Since Bush took office, 3.7 million Americans have lost their health insurance. 44 million Americans do not have health insurance coverage. George W. Bush has done nothing to address the health care challenge. (Census Bureau)

· In 1,298 Days, 4 Million Young People Dropped Out of High School. Since Bush took office, approximately 4 million young people have dropped out of high school. Bush has had no plan for high schools. (Manhattan Institute)

· In 1,298 Days, 1.8 Million Jobs Have Been Lost. Since Bush took office, 1.8 million private sector jobs have been lost. George W. Bush has focused on tax cuts for the wealthy that has not helped create jobs. (Bureau of Labor Statistics)

JOHN KERRY AND JOHN EDWARDS WILL FOCUS ON THE DOMESTIC AGENDA EVERY DAY. John Kerry and John Edwards have a plan to improve education, health care and the economy. And they will fight for this plan every day of their Administration – not wait to make false election year promises.

1. Come to think of it
We're still waiting for Bush to announce ANY agenda at all.

All of his advertising so far is Kerry bashing.

Is this what he thinks plays in Peoria?
