A message from WES CLARK
In case you've been wondering what Wes Clark was doing and how he has been helping out the Democrats...here's the answer.

A Message from Wes Clark
July 22, 2004

Dear Loyal Supporter,

On the eve of next week's Democratic Convention in Boston, I just wanted to thank you for your continued support and take a moment to reflect on what we’ve been able to accomplish over the past few months, before focusing on the hard work that lies ahead between now and November.

Thanks to your help, WesPAC is having a real impact on this election. You’ve given us the resources we need to travel across the country and work hard for good Democrats in tight races nationwide. Over just the past few weeks, I’ve campaigned through New Hampshire and Maine for John Kerry and John Edwards. I visited Dayton, Ohio with Jane Mitakides who is running for an important House seat in that battleground state. I also campaigned in Missouri with U.S. Senate candidate Nancy Farmer and helped Congressman Martin Frost, a long-time Democratic House member from Texas, in his effort to overcome Tom Delay’s assault on his seat through redistricting.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be traveling to Alaska to campaign with former Governor Tony Knowles in his U.S. Senate race. I will also be campaigning with Senator Patty Murray in Washington State. And I am planning a trip to South Dakota to campaign for our Senate leader, Tom Daschle. I really appreciate the generous support you showed Tom last week. Thanks to you, we were able to raise significant funds for his vitally important campaign -- a race that the right-wing is focusing lots of money and attention on. We can’t let them win!

All in all, through WesPAC, you and I are making ourselves heard. We’re continuing to talk about the important issues we raised during my campaign for President, while working on behalf of candidates who share the same beliefs on foreign policy and national security issues. And we’re holding President Bush accountable for his repeated failures of leadership over the past four years.

After all, this election is about bringing new leadership to America. That’s why I’m so excited about the Democratic Convention in Boston next week. We will engage the American people in a dialogue about our country’s future, articulate the real differences we have with the extreme right-wing Bush Administration, and introduce them to John Kerry and John Edwards -- a Democratic ticket that will get America back on track.

I wish you all could be in Boston with me to participate in this exciting event. But I hope Gert and I will be able to represent you and your vision for America while we’re there. I’ll be addressing the convention Thursday evening, taking the opportunity to talk about why we Democrats are the better choice to keep America safe at home and around the world, and why John Kerry must be elected our next President.

I can’t thank you enough for your continued friendship and support. We’ve already made a lot of progress, but there is a long way to go. Next week’s Democratic Convention will galvanize nationwide support for John Kerry and John Edwards, while reinvigorating each and every one of us for the hard work that lies ahead. I look forward to standing with you in these important weeks and months to come!

Yeah! :bounce: Wes will be speaking Thursday night. :) He'll post times at a later date.
