Poll question: Rove or Cahill: Who has a shrewder political mind?
Karl Rove, who engineered the dirty tricks campaigns which helped secure Dubya the GOP nomination and gave the Republicans a majority in the Senate,

or

Mary Beth Cahill, who helped revitalize John Kerry's campaign for the Democratic nomination, and turned Kerry's campaign organization into one which could win all but three states in the primaries?

1. shrewd maybe isn't the right word for Mary Beth
BRILLIANT comes to mind. Rove is definitely shrewd and plays dirty. Mary Beth just knows how to play good offense and good defense...she rocks:bounce: What a valuable assest to Kerry's team:bounce:

2. It's not a popularity contest.
I'm quite a fan of Mary Beth, both in her strategies and as a perosn. And I think Karl Rove is one of the most hideous blights on American politics today. But his subversiveness as well as his douchebaggery knows no limits, and I do believe he can out-conive anyone. Thankfully, he's got so much worse a candidate to work with this election, that won't be enough.

3. Sorry, gotta give it to Rove
The man has no heart, compassion or regard for the truth.

But for sheer political shrewdness, which requires none of the above qualities, he has it.

4. Rove lost last time.
Why would anyone think he's shrewder today than he was 4 years ago?

5. Cahill
Look what she did with Emily's List and women candidates. She not only knows how to play tough, she knows the true heart of the American people and Rove can't even pretend to go there.

6. Shrewd has truly different meanings when comparing Cahill and Rove...
Sort of like those who call Hitler a "great" leader. Effective yes, but "great?"
