Schuster , re. Indiana... heavy turnout in Obama Country!
Indianapolis, up near Chicago, and around Indiana University.

He's quoting unnamed Democratic Party sources.

He also says there is heavy Republican and Independent participation.

Also quoted a Hillary supporter who is worried, thinks the result will be a "barn burner".

1. Not sure what is meant by "barn burner."
Can you explain? Like Hillary going down in heavy flames?

TIA...:hi:

3. I Think He Means "Extremely Close Election"
...as in "don't expect a call for hours" close.

...as in "2000 election" close.

I guess I can handle that as long as Obama takes NC as easily as I think he will.

9. "barn burner"
It is usually used to describe an exciting, evenly contested event that isn't settled until the very end. It is most often used when describing a sporting event.

21. NW Indy has commuter trains that come in to the city.
Some of them have a shorter commute than those living N/S/W of the city. It also offers considerably more affordable housing and lower taxes. I used to have several co-workers from IN, they considered themselves as much a part of Chicago like the rest of us in the suburbs to the west of the city.

5. The unnamed sources are likely Hillary's staff, working on lowering expectations.
Then if/when Obama doesn't win, it's actually a doubleplusgood win for Hillary!

6. Tweety was just asking his panel "what if its a double win for him tonight?"
He looked like he was going to be sick.

I think the exit poll #'s that the networks arent allowed to give before the polls close arent looking good for Hillary.

19. I heard that Hillary's internal polling numbers show a tie in Indiana
Edited on Tue May-06-08 05:09 PM by Hamlette
Of course, she would leak something like that so when she wins by a few points it looks like a blow out and she can claim some sort of unexpected victory.

Are the Clinton people as cynical about what Obama says as we are about what she says? I dont' believe a word she says any more.
