George's Big Night in September.
How many think George might have a complete nervous breakdown on the night of his acceptance speech?

* More and more reality (Plame, Iraq, Halliburton, economy) is getting media time....who knows what fresh meat will be laid bare between now and the RC?

* Using 9/11 as a backdrop....given what he really know about his performance on that day. He knows he was no hero that day.

* Polling data showing that George could be rejected by the widest % of voters of any incumbant President. They'll be a lot of pressure for him to hit one out.

* How many lies are possble in a political speech? Can Bush keep his mind from wandering when he recites them?

His public performances have degraded significantly over time. The last press conference I watched 2 months ago was an absolute disaster.

Could Bush self-destruct on that night? I have a vision of a rambling, incoherent man being quietly helped off the podium as a stunned convention watches on.............

3. No. GW has no sense of shame.
No introspection, and is totally devoid of any capability to perceive his own tendancy to err. That is one scary combination.

My son noticed something about Bush last night that I've seen, but never defined.

We were watching a short bit of some GW speech, when my son said "Why is he doing that?"

I asked him what he meant.

"Why is he smiling like he's asking a trick question that he knows you won't be able to answer?"

My son was correct. Bush is smarmy in his confidence, as if he were a game show contestant that had been slipped the answers in advance, and wasn't intelligent enough to pull out his poker face.

I'm not sure what that says about the man, but my spidey sense tells me it ain't a good thing. The quicker we get rid of this twit the better I'll be able to sleep.

won't be able to answer"

OMG Your son hit the nail right on the head. That is precisely the look that is on his face every single time he speaks in public. I have been watching him and trying to figure out why his supporters are not put off by that look. I know I would shudder if Kerry sported it.
