1. I love the idea, but how long before someone steals these from our cars?

2. I think the idea is that in areas where

you fear your bumperstickers will be peeled off or defaced while you park, you peel off the magnet and put it inside the car, put it back on when you get going again.

3. That's the point/they can't steal them

because you don't leave them on your car when your car is parked in an area of concern. Just put them on the dashboard or on the seat and then put back on your car before you start driving...wallah...once again, you are a moving billboard for the good guys.

4. Right, I made my own car magnets and been using 'em all year

I have a whole set of Kerry and anti-Bush bumper stickers that I attached to magnetic sheet myself. You get the sheet at any craft store and cut to size.

I've been doing this for a year. I put them on in the morning in my garage and remove them when I get to work. It's no big deal and has several benefits:

I can change the message depending on my mood or current events.
Won't mess up the car.
And no repuke would have a reason to key my car when in the parking lot.
And some of the really anti-Bush stuff might be a little hard for my neighbors to handle in my driveway. The anonymity of riding down the highway with them, however, is blissful.

5. Where can I get a sticker like the one you have posted here?

Now that is my kind of bumper sticker with Al Gore's name on it for Kerry/Edwards.
