The Post Convention Money Problem: Why Can't We Be The Difference?
Many people are concerned about the financial advantage that Bush will have after the Democratic convention, when the Kerry campaign is limited in it's spending due to the campaign finance laws.

So, what is stopping us, the grassroots, from conducting our own activities to get the campaign's message out?

Everyone of us can make up our own flyers and distribute them in our neighborhoods.

Everyone of us can get together with a few of our friends, get some Kerry/Edwards signs and pick a busy corner to stand on during rush hour.

Everyone of us can write a letter to the editor.

Call a talk show.

Host a house party.

Walk our block and talk to our neighbors.

Email our friends.

This isn't John Kerry's campaign, it's ours. Let's go all out and win it.

2. Why not post in the Texas forum and see who will join you?
I plan to do so in the Michigan forum.

In '92, on the Clinton campaign, we had a couple of dozen enthusiastic high school kids here in the Detroit area who wanted to help the campaign.

We would give them campaign signs and put them out on busy street corners and freeway overpasses. In a single day, thousands of people saw those happy young people waving their signs. That's as good as a commercial in my book.

4. Do you have friends in swing states?
Why not make up a flyer for Kerry and mail it to them?

5. No...But Michigan Is A Swing State...What Can I Do to Help YOU???
I'm serious about this. Telegram me, post it here, whatever...what can I do from here in Texas to help you good Michiganders secure your great state for Kerry?
Texas, of course, is a lost cause!

6. Here's an idea
How about writing a letter to the editor, explaining why you, as a Texan, are opposed to Bush, and sending it to newspapers in Michigan and other swing states?

7. Would They Print Letters From Non-Locals??
I was thinking more in terms of getting together on weekends (when I have free air time and free long-distance on my cellphone) and calling up registered Democrats in Michigan...and maybe getting others TO register...that sort of thing.
I seriously doubt I can keep to a 150-250 word limit on why I am opposed to Bush!! I think I'd need as much space as War And Peace by Leo Tolstoy to enumerate all the resons I am opposed to Bush!
