Harold Ford's speech on C-Span
Edited on Mon Jul-26-04 10:17 AM by leyton
Anyone else see Harold Ford's speech just now? (On C-SPAN.)

This looks like a guy who is not afraid to point out what is wrong with the country and with his own party even. He seems like the guy who can give the hard answers that people don't want to hear but need to hear anyway.

Also, he's quite funny. Lots of deadpan humor.

1. Your header is misleading. The convention hasn't officially begun
And Ford, I believe, is not one of the speakers at the convention. He was keynote Speaker in 2000.

3. he will probably speak at the convention, but not primetime
he might do one of those other things they do such as introduce a clip or be part of a panel with more than 1 person and some other things which take up the time before the primetime speakers come on which is what people really want to see.

4. He's too centrist for me, personally, but...
...I could appluad him as TN Senator, and I find he is able to advance his ideas effectively. I'm not one who is looking to "stack Washington" with like-minded people I only agree with, I'd just rather find a way that many perspectives can be represented again without the rancor and viciousness we've seen since the death of the fairness doctrine. I think that would go a long way in improving our democracy.

5. He gave Bush a free ride for the war.
I think he overdid it. Yeh, I know he has to be centrist to be elected. I hear that a lot lately.

Bush lied. Say it loudly and clearly. I have many lists on my hard drive of his lies. Why are we not educating people that he lied? They really don't know it because no one is telling them.
