How Do You Stop A Lame Duck Government? |
|
We're worried about Bush getting another four years, and the freedom he'll gain by not worrying about re-election.
But what would happen if Kerry won, and we took back either the Senate or the House?
Same scenario, just compressed into a short period of time.
I could see a few Supremes retiring, so that Bush could replace them, major legislature being passed on the fly, Presidential pardons and Executive acts appearing right and left.
Is there anything that can be done legally to supress a lame duck government?

vacancies will be filled between the election and January 20th. Democrats would just filibuster until Kerry takes office.
Lame duck presidents are LESS powerful, not more.

Filibuster, filibuster, filibuster.
NOTHING will get done in Congress after Kerry wins until he takes office.
