Gallup has Bush 18 pts up on war on terrorism; Rasmussen has them tied!
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/Bush%20Kerry%20Fundamentals.htm

July 23, 2004--When it comes to the War on Terror and national defense issues, voter preference for Bush over Kerry is at its lowest level of the year.

A Rasmussen Reports survey found that 48% of voters trust President Bush more than Senator Kerry on this issue. That matches Bush's lowest level of the year.

Forty-five percent (45%) now prefer Kerry. That's up a point from last week and the highest level of the year for the Senator.

The national telephone survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted by Rasmussen Reports over the past two nights.. The margin of sampling error for the survey is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. (see Methodology).

3. Answer: BECAUSE THE PRESS DOES NOT DO THEIR JOB!
They uncritically cheerled this country to war. Shame on them. They deserve nothing less.

5. No, but there is a shot of Dubya standing on the debris pile at the WTC
with his arm around a retired fireman. That one "money shot" has taken Bush a long way to "winning the hearts and minds" of the feckless press and the clueless among us. Rove definitely earned his pay that day.
