Progressive?:

Cure a Sick Healthcare System
Educate All Children
Prioritize Civil Rights
Win Over Women (Women's rights)
Be a Good Steward
Forge a Coalition with Labor
Exercise Fiscal Responsibility
Make Judicious Appointments

http://www.inthesetimes.com/

MAKE JUDICIOUS APPOINTMENTS IS PROGESSIVE? NO! That's a basic cornerstone of every president's agenda.

I hope I am not the only one who thinks that calling the list of actions up there progressive is a crock of sh*t. Those are basic actions that should be backbone issues, most of which should be taken care of and in place within 100 days of kerry being in office.

It gets worse - this is the list of things NOT on kerry's agenda, according to inthesetimes.com.

Sustainability would be progressive. Doubling the minimum wage would be progressive. Setting a maximum wage would be progressive. A national public transportaion infrastructure would be progessive.

I know the nay-sayers will tell me "You have to start somewhere." But this is weak-kneed. The repukkks never slowdown or waterdown their message because 'they needed to start somewhere.' Why do we, the democrats, have to ease into our policies - only to watch them reversed by repukkks?

1. SHHHHHH!!!! NOT SO LOUD!!!!
We can't actually TALK about these things now, because they make the A-Team look "unelectable"-- at least, to their corporate masters.

It's truly a sad, sad day when the Democratic Party runs away from such things as universal health care, free public education for kids, and the other points above-- even after so many of us worked to bring these issues back to the forefront of our philosophy.

Heck, most of the above are things that NIXON could have run on in 1972, without even blinking an eye. And nowdays, the DNC leadership is "afraid" of looking "unelectable" by supporting these. These are basic "bread and butter" Democratic issues the party championed even as recently as the late 80s/early 90s.

Remember when being a Democrat used to mean you stood FOR something, instead of just standing "against Bush"?
