Bill Clinton: "We need to seal the deal this week" |
I saw that quote in an article. He said it at one of the pre-convention parties. That's why his speech kicked ass. He knows this convention is huge for us, folks.

4. I must admit, he is very good at what he does |
I don't think I've ever seen him better, his timing was perfect, he came across as sincere, earnest, hopeful, and confident. He found, as he so often manages to, that incredibly elusive balance between presenting his positions forcefully, authoritatively, and credibly, without ever once compromising his plain, folksy, personable appeal and coming across as an intellectual or a professional politician, he just made it look so easy and natural, a very impressive performance. It's sometimes hard to fathom how this is the same guy who pushed through Nafta and the welfare destruction act and the indefinite immigrant detention act and all of the other deals with the devil he made to stay in power. I must admit, I'm liking him rather more these days now that he's no longer president and having to sell his soul to stay president. He's sounding more like the Bill Clinton of his first term when I was proud to vote for him.
