Go ahead and flame...last nights speakers should be tonights.. |
|
I'm sorry but tonights speakers, even the people who I like, are just not doing the trick. They are more rambling, more reliant on awkward hand gestures, and just not really doing the trick.
It's kind of a let down after last night's Kennedy, Dean, Obama, and Theresa. Maybe they are just trying to lull people down before Edwards blows them away.
Either way, tonight even when I've liked the message (the repub turned democrat) or the speaker (Sharpton), I"ve thought the speeches left a lot to be desired or hit the wrong notes.
Just one man's opinions and I"m sure I'll hear from many about how wrong I am.

1. I think it was designed to make Edwards |

stand out even more. I believe most people will tune in just to see him, as they will to see Kerry tomorrow.

2. Not even a flick of the Bic here... |

You're right. I wish politicians would be a little more creative in approaching issues instead of repeating the same old jingoistic schpeil.
Even so, Sharpton did a great job of energizing the crowd, and I thought his message needed to be put out there. Granholm was fun to watch. However, I suspect the Edward's will redeem the night.

4. No offense but I thought Granholm stunk up the place.... |

She was mostly who prompted me to post this. My wife said she reminded her of Beth Littleford(one of the original Daily Show correspondents) doing a parody of a female politician.

You're right: tonight will be a let down, especially after Obama's oratory.

I agree except in one respect.
I was sitting here doing some design work on my website, watching here and there, and when Al started speaking, he made me take notice. I couldn't look away from it. I was actually applauding at my television making my cat wonder what the hell I was going on about.
And, there was Dennis Kucinich before him, pre-prime time I guess. I watched all his too and was very impressed.
With the others, I think you're right.
