It's not enough that he was wounded 3 times.

It's not enough that JK was awarded the Bronze Star.

It's not enough that JK was awarded the Silver Star... in a war that claimed over 58,000 Americans.

It's not enough that he spoke for the Vietnam Vets who were treated like ghosts when they came home.

It's not enough that he championed after-school programs, 200K more police on the streets, better sensible gun ownership, environmental protection, stronger national security, fair trade, or international good will.

I will no longer defend John Kerry's record.

I will no longer defend John Kerry's sense of duty to our country.

I will no longer defend John Kerry's warmth and sincerity.

From now on, I will attack with my own questions.

I will question the intelligence of those who dare to ignore the critical issues threatening to change America forever.

Next time some bozo brings up something about Kerry and Viet Nam, I'm gonna remind them of Cheney's five deferments and his comments that he had better things to do. I'm gonna remind them how the Repukes have screwed soldiers coming back from combat. I'm not gonna be polite any more. I'm mad and I'm gonna let them know it!

BTW, the locals are selling magnetic yellow ribbon decals to raise funds for our local Guardsmen. When I get paid tomorrow, I'm buying one. The ribbon says on one side "Support our troops" The other side is blank. I'm taking a permanent marker and adding "Vote John Kerry"!

Repubs say the same thing over and over and over when dems DARE to bring up Kerry's service record...What has he done in the senate...what has he done in the senate...you never hear about that...you never hear about that....oh god...I had to turn off CNN today because the repubs kept saying that and it made me want to gag!!

serve, as you say two tours of duty that added up to MORE than four months?????? Didn't I hear that some time way back?

He wasn't the ONLY vet that came back protesting the shit that happend over there. CNN even had two heli pilots on interview several months ago. They humbly told their story, no gloat, no blame, on the massacre at Mai Lei where they flew over in thier craft with 18 men...I forget the mission...but they saw what was going on in the field below and saw from such a height so as to see the people running for their lives way in the distance as some of our soldiers (ordered by shithead CO'S) went in on an indiscriminate killing spree. These men said they had to do something. They were broken at the thought but pulled their weapons on their own fellow americans and ordered them to stop! Then went to help those fortunate folks that managed to hide/get away.

VN was a lie, never declared a war in the first place. The men were sent there with the same lack of resources and leadership. They were asked to do the damnedest things then left for shitheaps upon their return. My hubby is a Vet from that time: 101st Airborne, Screaming Eagles. He knows. It was HELL in Viet Nam. Their leaders on the ground were assholes in too many cases. The Generals did not know their ass from a hole in the ground.
I praise Kerry for speaking up like he did. I marched in the Anti War protests of that time. I wasn't anti soldier, as many were, I was anti establishment (that was so irrationally freaked out with communism) and anti VIET NAM war.

The RW creeps/chickenhawks are so twisted and vile. Hell, just getting through boot camp is worthy of a medal!! Fercrissakes! So, yeah, tell those empty suits to PACK SAND!!
