1. Call me stupid but didn't Lincoln have some guilt with the civil war?

5. Well,
sure--the southern states seceded at least partially because they knew his politics wouldn't be good for their interests (ie, slavery) but I don't think that deserves to be called "guilt" since Lincoln was so obviously in the right the whole time.

It's sort of like saying that Woodrow Wilson caused WWII by not getting the League of Nations achieved--kind of true, but not a very complete story, you know?

6. Didn't he have some concerns over not resolving the...
...tariff/trade issues or pushing for an economic incentive solution to resolve the brewing conflict? I don't remember where I read that but it was long, long ago.

7. The Southern states
all seceded several months before Lincoln was even inaugurated, so I don't really think he was in a position to dictate economic incentive plans--most of the states declared ahead of the election that they would leave if Abe was elected...

"This guy is the type that leaves a mess every place he goes and some one will have to clean it up. I know the type."She was sure right.

4. He's screwed up everything he's ever attempted in life......
I'm surprised anyone is surprised at what he has done with this job, as well.
