I was inspired by John Kerry tonight:
Edited on Thu Jul-29-04 11:39 PM by mdguss
John Kerry delievered an unbelieveable speech tonight. Eloquent in its articulation of a philosophy that believes in giving people a fair shot and fair treatment; in its articulation of a view that keeps America safe and secure; in its rejection of negative attack-style politics; eloquent in its definition of American values; and rightous in its definition of religion. I voted for John Kerry in Maryland's primary; I'm was proud to vote for him then, and I am prouder to support him now.

I thought his speech was uplifting. I thought his speech was inspiring. Inspiring in his definition of what government can do, and what it shouldn't do.

That speech was a masterpiece. It defined what so many Americans feel. It was delivered with a sense of conviction in our ideals that were sorely missed in the 1990's.

John Kerry asked me to look for what was good and what could be made better in the world around us. I'm voting for John Kerry for President in November. I hope all here found that speech as inspiring as I did.

2. I am very optimistic!
I was a little down after three days of Kerry bashing by the media then the man himself showed up and shut 'em all up!

4. Shut 'Em All Up
John Kerry helped himself immeasurably tonight. What a great speech! He answered a lot of questions about his suitability for the highest office in the land. I'm genuinely impressed.

3. He RE-inspired me.
I've been a Kerry supporter from the beginning (I'm from MA, so I've been watching him for a long time).

I'm so thrilled to hear that folks are starting to see the John Kerry that I've known and admired for years.

I've been waiting for this moment to come, and it has arrived.

5. I will admit, freely, that I was skeptical
Another "Massachusetts liberal". He was way down my personal list of the Democratic candidates at the beginning. Tonight, I feel the need to apologize. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe THIS "Massachusetts liberal" really is electable. I certainly hope so and tonight I finally BELIEVE it..

6. He may be a Massachusetts liberal...
...but more in the vein of John Kennedy than Michael Dukakis.

7. John Kerry didn't just inspire us, he returned pride to our party..
He knows that people will not support a party or its candidate unless they can be proud of it. For the first time since Monica and the fund-raising scandals, I don't just support the party's ideals..but am proud of my party and all of our candidates.

8. I'm a BELIEVER NOW
I had my doubts about John Kerry before, Wesley Clark had always been my first choice. But his performance tonight demonstrated why he is rightly the Democratic nominee. He demonstrated eloquence and grace, and at the same time determination and will to make America the great country it once was. He finally showed the passion and patriotic zeal that was always inside him, but never really truly came out during the primaries.

It finally took the support of his Democratic colleagues and his comrades in arms to truly make John Kerry the next President of the United States.

Onward to November and to President Elect John Kerry's Inauguration!

9. I think it was a 530 foot home run.
Pat Buchanan was raving about how good it was. Joe Scarborough liked it a lot.

Buchanan said "If this was the first time I heard John Kerry, without knowing about his voting record, I could vote for him."

Frank Luntz's focus group spells doomsville for W.
