Edited on Fri Jul-30-04 10:21 AM by Zynx
http://pollingreport.com/BushJob.htm

Was 49% Approve/ 51% Disapprove, but now is 44% Approve/ 56 Disapprove.

That was before Kerry's speech.

1. And Kerry's speech...
Oh man, Rove must have blown a gasket in his head... Kerry showed such grace, sincerity, panache and hope - nothing that W can do in September.

Edited on Fri Jul-30-04 10:23 AM by wryter2000
Even a freeper complimented me on our convention yesterday, and he sounded sincere. He said the dems were doing a good job out outlining their goals and he hoped the repubs did as well. I almost dropped my teeth.

edit - typo

3. Really? Wow. But someone else posted that * approval went up?
Which is correct?

I see the approval rating as more indicative of whether * will win than the head to head *-Kerry numbers.

5. That number that he was talking about was a bunk ABC poll.
ABC always gives Bush his best job approval numbers.

6. Indeed. Bush is in lousy shape. Not as bad as Carter, but it is bad for
him.

14. Absolutely
Any incumbent who is at 44 percent approval only a few months before the election is in serious trouble.

7. My repub brother in California called me right after Kerry's speech
He's convinced and voting for Kerry. He has been building a slow boil against Bush all year but wasn't sure Kerry was up to the job. We won him over! :bounce:

15. Truman, but the Gallup poll that year was way off all the way through.
In modern polling, no.

Jay Leno: “Did you hear President Clinton's speech Monday? I thought it was great. He gave a great speech. It was really good, really good very inspiring. But I tell you, you know what it did? It made me kind of nostalgic, you know? It reminded me of a time in this country when presidents could actually talk. Remember?”
